Rep. Duncan Hunter of California, as if channeling Goldwater, spoke of using tactical nuclear weapons as a last resort against Iran's nuclear program. When three other candidates... were asked about that, they were somewhat more measured but said all options should be on the table.

In USA Today's world, saying its a "last resort" is evidence of a war-mongering madman. Saying "all options are on the table" is evidence of maturity.

USA Today's editorialist goes on to make the claim that the US with nukes is more dangerous than Iran with nukes. In essence, Duncan Hunter is scarier than Ahmadinejad. What he means, though, is that a Europe that has no intentions of stopping Iran's nuclear program is terrified that the US might do it, and so are the writers at USA Today.

Of course, in my view if Ahmadinejad thinks Hunter is scarier than he is, that might actually be a good thing, I think.

Go Hunter.

Hunter scares the crap out of liberals and Islamofascists. None of the other candidates can claim that, not even that actor guy. That’s why we need Hunter in the White House. Go Hunter!

Last resort for Hunter means BEFORE they get the nukes, and he means it 100%.

That ad lost it for Goldwater. Too bad, because we had to suffer with LBJ for another four years!

Duncan Hunter said that IF ALL ELSE FAILED, he would use a preemptive nuclear attack to save our country from an Iranian nuclear attack. If Iran develops the bomb, Iran WILL use it. I think we could take out their missles without using nukes.

Protecting our country is what government IS SUPPOSED to do. Goldwater knew it. Duncan Hunter knows it. Duncan Hunter also knows that peace comes through strength, and the only thing Muslims respect is strength, NOT appeasement.

So with Duncan Hunter as President, the danger would be considerably diminished.

I think everything Hunter says, he means 100%, and you can take it to the bank.

I like Thompson, he’s my number two pick, but I like him because he sounds like Hunter, he’s Hunter dressed up for mass market appeal.

Hunter is the full dose.

The Mullahs would most certainly NOT want Hunter to win the presidency. All the more reason to elect him.

Well said. And I haven’t heard Fred address China, but Hunter hates communists and will not be helping them achieve their desired superpower status.

Did they somehow miss "AS A LAST RESORT" in his comment?

President Hunter’s name says it all. His slogan should be that he scares the hell out of our enemies foreign and domestic! :)

Key word is ‘sounds’. He is an actor. But he is nowhere near Duncan Hunter in who would run a better campaign and who would make the best President. Thompson has never been much of a leader and he is still showing incompetence in the way he is playing this campaign and trying to hype his way to the nomination.
