The Republicans' Hispanic Delusion
City Journal ^ | June 6, '07 | Heather Mac Donald

Amnesty is not just wrong in principle, it's bad politics. George Bush's political strategists have long promoted amnesty for illegal aliens as a device for increasing the Republican vote among Hispanics. A Hispanic backlash in California after Proposition 187 turned the state from red to blue, they claim. There is scant evidence for either of these ideas. And California's Hispanics leaned as strongly Democratic before Prop. 187 as after it. Hispanic voting patterns in California have held steady since 1988 - they vote approximately two-to-one for Democratic presidential candidates. The Bush strategists say Hispanics are social conservatives on homosexuality and abortion. But the majority of Hispanics vote their perceived economic interests rather than their social values. Blacks are equally conservative on gay rights and other favorite liberal crusades, and that doesn't affect their allegiance to the Democratic party. As for the majority of Latinos - poor and poorly-educated - the more government services the better. Mexican consulates across the country are busily signning up illegal Mexicans for all the free government-funded health care that the consulates can find... This attitude of entitlement - not only among illegal aliens but also among legal Hispanic immigrants and their children - extends to the full array of welfare programs. In fact, welfare use actually increases between the second and third generation of Mexican-Americans - to 31 percent of all third-generation of Mexican-American households. The rising Hispanic population also means stronger unions...

It's hardly surprising but they latest opponent of secure borders to make this canard his theme song is Jeb Bush. Aside from the social and economic disaster increasing daily from this foreign illegal invasion, they remain oblivious to the national security danger in an age of international terrorism.

Republicans should craft their immigration policy based on principle, not on politics.

Sound advice for a host of issues.

Ya know, you tell people this, especially liberals and independants and they basically laugh at you. They are so clueless about what these terrorist want to accomplish it boggles the mind!

Last night I just happen to be channel surfing and stopped on John Stewart where he was making fun of Bush by showing half-ass snipets. Bush said in one, "The terrorist want to kill your families," and I was taken aback because most of the people in the audience were laughing at that statement!

What a bunch of moronic idiots!

The new calling plan, “Call All” Including DHS

It is time to call beyond the published phone numbers. Example; 202-224-3121 is the published number for the Senate Switchboard. If you dial 202-224-2887 you get the Senate Commerce Committee answer line. 202-224-3445 end up with the Senate Building Health Unit The idea is to work through the last four digits in sequence who answers give them the message. Some of you geeks, I say that with admiration; can probably develop a list of all the combinations which will keep us busy from the calling end. Are you with me?

DHS

Citizen Line
Operator Number: 202-282-8000
Comment Line: 202-282-8495

Media Contacts
Agency Press Rooms and Contact Numbers
U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services (USCIS): 202-272-1200
Customs & Border Protection (CBP): 202-344-1780
Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA): 202-646-4600
U.S Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE): 202-514-2648

Parasites are parasites, and they will always vote Democrat. It's what the Democrat party is all about - - confiscating from society's producers (Republicans) and handing it over to society's losers and parasites (the Democrat "base") in exchange for votes.

Immigrants don't have anything to confiscate - - how in God's name could anybody be so stupid as to believe immigrants would vote anything BUT rat?? I am simply floored by the malicious stupidity of so many Republican politicians. Kill the bill.
