When is the rest of America going to get it through their collective skulls that actors and celebrities are simply people who take other people's dialog, other people's wardrobe, choreography, makeup, etc. and make it appear as if it is their own. With few exceptions they are little better than brightly colored parrots. We don't pay $15 for a ticket to hear their dim-witted political pontifications, we pay them to entertain us. The smart ones understand this and keep their opinions to themselves. But the majority "think" that because crowds attend their performances their thoughts must be golden.

A good example is what is happening this week. Bob Barker is retiring from The Price is Right after 35 highly successful years. Aside from his stand on animal rights and controlling the pet population he's kept his political beliefs to himself. His contestants have run the gamut of teenagers to senior citizens to active duty personnel who are encouraged to attend wearing their uniforms. My retired mother freaked recently when she heard that one of the people who've expressed a desire to succeed him is none other than Rosie O'Donnell. Is there anyone who believes that CBS would take their weekday morning cash-cow and put it in the hands of this woman? Now if this fish-monger's wife had kept her mouth shut and continued to play "Queen of Nice" as she did when her own show first started she might've had a chance. But after her half-baked political bloviations on The View her chances of taking over that show would make betting on the survival of a snowball in Hell seem like a sure thing.

To Kyra and the rest of Hollywood's "elite", you think you're smarter than the rest of us, do like Reagan and other performers have done. Put up or shut up...

Actually Bob Barker is a republican. That’s probably why he keeps quiet about his politics.
