It FINALLY seems to be sinking in, particularly with regards to the two Georgia senators.

No it isn't. Chambliss and Isakson want "emergency funding" for the bill currently in the Senate, before passage by the Senate, let alone the House. It's an attempt at end-running the process.

Question is...will enough Dems back it?

If not, nothing happens whatsoever.

“..asking the president to send Congress an emergency supplemental spending bill to fund border security.”

Never mind the bill for border security. Kill the comprehensive immigration reform bill first and then let’s talk about border security, fence, etc.

More from the Article, the GOOD guys. (We should still be under 300 words!)

Another letter signed by nine GOP senators calls on Bush to enforce existing border security laws "regardless of whether the Senate passes the immigration reform bill." Describing border security as "vital,"

......signed by Sens. DeMint, Coburn, Enzi, Vitter, Inhofe, Bunning, Grassley, Ensign, and Sessions. Combined with the letter from Isakson and Chambliss, the "border security-first" opinion of represents more than 20% of the Senate GOP caucus."

"their constituents don't trust the Administration's immigration policy."

Or ANY OTHER POLICY after what we've seen here!

"Georgia Sens. Johnny Isakson and Saxby Chambliss are asking the president to send Congress an emergency supplemental spending bill to fund border security."

That will no longer do it, fellas!

We want to SEE the fence!
We want to SEE an enforced Border!
We want to SEE our Border Patrol Agents--OUT OF JAIL!--and doing their jobs!

You think the American people are going to trust Bush and the Senate after this?!!!???

Trying to foist this 108-page "bill" on America--a "bill" that nobody seems to know what's in, including YOU--a "bill" prepared in secret--a "bill" crafted by Teddy Kennedy, a man whom nobody should trust--a "bill" that will change the U.S.A. forever!

If this is not the ultimate irresponsibility, it's worse: It's the ultimate treachery!

Bush has all the laws and authority he needs to implement border security. All he needs is the will. Until he gets that, nothing will happen. Unfortunately, I don’t ever think he will get the will on that. He will let his approval rating sink to zero first (among legal voters anyway).
