It was actually very scary. There is a whole in the back seat. You can see through to the trunk (where the battery is). It’s where one of my kids usually sits. I just keep on imagine it catching fire while one of my kids is sitting there.
I’ve been telling Prius owners about this. There isn’t anything on the web about it.
That is not good.
Just an aside abourt hummers. In 97-98 the US Army built Hybrid Humvees (experimental). The reports gave about twice the performance and 50% better fuel economy for these Hybrids.
Power was a 2.5L Dettroit Diesel (I was not aware there was such an engine) In addition it could travel 20 miles on Batt Power. They used Lead-Acid Batts and later Ni.
It seemed so neat that I wanted to build one but couldn’t find all components.
