Politicians are not that smart. Elaborate schemes and clever conspiracies are not in their playbook. This fiasco is nothing more than a fiasco. If something good comes from it, it was not planned, it was an accident.
No, I don’t think so. I think they will end up with less money rather than more.
Not only that, but it is far more desirable from their point of view that people should donate to the RNC. That means they control the money, and have more leverage over the candidates, because they can give or withhold funds depending on how well the get with the program.
The last thing they would want is for all that money to go direct to the candidates, leaving them without obligation to the RNC and the party leadership.
Who, in their right mind, would give any of these liars $$. I don’t care if they’re local, state, or federal politicians. They’re all elitists who are in-your-face arrogant.
At this point I’m only donating to candidates with a strong stance on border security and a record to prove it.
I wrote SEN Lamar Alexander(R)TN a year ago and told him what to expect. Him along with my REP Duncan(R)TN what to expect.
They never answered. They thought the war would would be the issue they could stick with. They are in trouble now.
...tried calling the local Party people once. The call was not returned.
Seeing that the RNC fired ALL of their phone donation solicitors shortly after this began due to lack of donations (and the immigration issue being the latest reason callers were giving), I doubt that this is true.
Anyways conservatives would and could donate directly to any conservative candidate they wanted, rather than going through the national RNC (who then determines which republicans get the money). Always better to donate to an individual candidate than thru the RNC, they know you and know they will have to account to you.
Simple fact of the matter is that this is one of Bush's crazy ideas. He's always wanted it. And the Service industry wants it because it depresses wages (requiring us to pay more for social programs.)
The beltway has nothing but contempt for the working American.
I don’t think so.
If that’s their strategy , it’s backfiring horribly.
Last time they called me, it was before the election, and I gave them an earful about Schwarzenneger and the lack of border enforcement. The guy argued with me for like 10 minutes, it's not a state issue, Arnold can't do anything, blah, blah, blah. Wouldn't give an inch. I said no money till you guys get serious about the border and a few other things.
Interestingly, the call I recieved yesterday was from Minnesota.
“..donations to the national Republican Party are way down..”
You can say that again. Whenever the NRP calls, I see it on my caller ID and I let them record a message which I will never respond to. Sorry, no more contributions until they take off the kneepads.
If this were a concerted effort by the Republicans, don’t you think they’d have been able to corral the likes of Specter and McCain? Or even President Bush?
What the Republicans have done is squash John McCain and royally ticked off their base.
They truly don’t get it. Attaching a bunch of extra strings and inconveniences onto an already bad amnesty bill isn’t going to make people happy.
bttt
Bush has been wanting this since he was Governor.
Perhaps. I give directly to a candidate..not the RNC. Thanks to the Internet, the candidates can no longer hide their voting records.
I will never again give anything other than peso notes to the RNC. They truly have become the party of the “New America” and I like the old America just fine.
Response: No. I think the degenerates were suprised and a little frightened by the public reaction.
Comment: Closer ever closer comes the Social War.
Florida’s RP can’t be very happy with Sen. Martinez. Take a look at what he sent me today....

See post 5.
That would ascribe some form of thought or intelligence, which at this point cannot accepet as present.
Couldn’t help but think of Bush while watching Dr. Strangelove. Perhaps Bush has some agenda of preserving our precious bodily fluids in mind.
The state Republican party has been aggressively soliciting me for money though phone calls and mailings. This is a recent phenomenon, as they used to NEVER call me.
I have yet to work up the nerve to tell off the poor schmuck on the other end of the telephone to take a flying leap. Now that I learn that Coleman might get on board with that immigration nonsense, I no longer have time or money for them.
