He also has a double digit lead in Iowa. After he wins both early primary states he will be unstoppable. The rest of the country doesn’t know him yet, but they will.

Yeah, Iowa’s quite the bastion of Northeastern Liberalism, all right. Don’t get much bluer.
Everywhere Romney is campaigning, he’s tearing up the field, with the debatable exception of SC. Where he’s not campaigning, he’s not doing well. But in our system of politics that doesn’t matter yet.
It’ll be interesting to watch as Thompson gets into the race.
If poll result was just the result of NH being ridden with Northeastern liberals, it would be Giuliani surging, not Romney. Giuliani is just as Northeastern, has more name recognition, and is the most liberal Republican running.
And then you've got to explain Romney's double-digit lead in Iowa, which is Midwest.
I have an alternative explanation. Maybe Romney is ascendant in NH and Iowa, because he is campaigning effectively, they see more of him, and like what they see. What do you think of that theory?
Actually, Romney won a South Carolina straw poll quite handily last week. And (surprise surprise) Romney won the Utah straw poll overwhelmingly. I don’t think I’d count Romney out just yet...
