Eternal Father, strong to save,
Whose arm hath bound the restless wave,
Who biddest the mighty ocean deep
Its own appointed limits keep;

O Christ! Whose voice the waters heard
And hushed their raging at Thy Word,
Who walked on the foaming deep,
And calm amidst its rage didst sleep;

Most Holy Spirit! Who didst brood
Upon the chaos dark and rude,
And bid its angry tumult cease,
And give, for wild confusion, peace;

O Trinity of love and power!
Our family shield in danger’s hour;
From rock and tempest, fire and foe,
Protect us wheresoever we go;
Thus evermore shall rise to Thee
Glad hymns of praise from land and sea.

My God, why did you take our brother?
Angles took the wrong one - not him - another.
Regret is a feeling that we feel everyday;
You took him from us, and we didn’t say -

“We Love You, Brian,” in my own way;
Only to hear him say it back to us.
God, why couldn’t you just let us be?
He didn’t deserve to die;
Didn’t deserve to be in pain,
Only to leave us here asking you why -
Night after night when we cry in vain.

May we all find comfort in the sure and certain knowledge of the resurection on that Glorious Day when the Curtain of death is at last parted and the faithful through all ages are reunited.
