DELCAMBRE, La. (AP) - Sag your britches somewhere else, this Cajun-country town has decided.
Mayor Carol Broussard said he would sign an ordinance the town council approved this week setting penalties of up to six months in jail and a $500 fine for being caught in pants that show undergarments or certain parts of the body.
Broussard said he has nothing against saggy pants but thinks people who wear them should use discretion. "It's gotten way out of hand out here," he said.
Albert Roy, the councilman who introduced the ordinance, said he thought the fine was a little steep and should be more in the $25 range, but he still favored the measure.
"I don't know if it will do any good, but it won't hurt," Roy said. "It's obvious, and anybody with common sense can see your parts when you wear sagging pants."
Broussard's advice for people who like their pants to hang low: "Just wear it properly. Cover your vital parts. I mean, if you expose your private parts, you'll get a fine. If you walk up and your pants drop, you get a fine. They're better off taking the pants off and just wearing a dress."
Well if a guy named Carol tells you you’re better off wearing a dress, he’s probably an expert.
Ack, I was walking behind a student the other day and thought his pants were going to fall down. It wasn’t two seconds later that they did. It’s a common occurance with teens. Don’t they have any idea where this “fad” originated?!?!
Plumbers of the World...Ping!
Where’s your belt son.
” They’re better off taking the pants off and just wearing a dress.’
That’s what you need, alright. A town full of guys wearing dresses.
San Francisco is indeed a trend setter...
Next up, makeup for your ‘going-away cleavage.’
SNL did a musical commercial for ‘coin-slot’ cream already, though.

Lord, how I hate those saggy pants that shows a fellow’s top of his butt crack. It’s as bad as female wearing low-waisted pants and show the top of her butt crack.
Thats what I was thinking, Plumbers crack just became illegal.
"This is a foolish bill because it will hurt so many," said Mr. Spruill, who is black. "This will be a bill that will target blacks." . . .
However, Kent Willis, executive director of the American Civil Liberties Union of Virginia, said the bill "clearly targets" black men.
"African-Americans are going to be the ones who are harassed by police under this law," Mr. Willis said yesterday. . . .
"It's not an attack on baggy pants," said Mr. Howell, Norfolk Democrat. "To vote for this bill would be a vote for character, to uplift your community and to do something good not only for the state of Virginia, but for this entire country."
'Droopy drawers' bill seeks end to overexposure of underwear.
If their parents would ahhhhhhhhhhhh “Apply the Board of Education against their Seat of Knowledge” more often, maybe they would not go out of their way to shock us older people.
Hehehe..you’re mention of butt crack made me think of something my 3 yr old grandaughter said last week. He little girl panties creeped up on her and she was pulling at them. I asked her what was wrong and she said, “my butt cracks.” Then she she said, “I fixed it.” 3 yr olds are a lot of fun. LOL
“Actually Delcambre floods a lot. The town was swamped by Hurricane Rita’s storm surge. ;)”
I lived there for 6 years and it never flooded once. Rita was due to a storm surge...wind. Of course the ditches always have water in them which is why they wear thier cajun reeboks.
- Dont they have any idea where this fad originated?!?!
Yea.. A bunch of kids were running around the neighborhood and decided to steal something, they stole pants/jeans.. Well, they were too big for the little thieves.. They were “High Dollar Name Brand” so, the kids decided to wear them anyway.. woop - dare it is..
It caught on..
Seems like thieves would be smart enought to grab stuff that is thier size.. but, they are thieves, how smart can they be.. Wouldn’t be stealing if they were smart enough to get a job.. Just buy the right size..
Keep an eye out for stolen hats too big.. That is starting to catch on too..
