yeah, I’m not the only Conservative who loves Big Love, lol!! It is a great show and does take us into places we have never been. It keeps my interest for sure.

The world hasn't changed - it's just become more societally acceptable for women to behave the way she did. A woman will do anything to feel a man's yang energy - she needs it like she needs air and water. If she isn't getting it from the boring computer guy, she'll go get it from some thug - and feel totally justified in doing so.
If a man isn't masculine enough, he will lose his woman...almost regardless of anything else he does right.
That’s because Bruce Dern is a liberal.
A lot of Mormons look as though they could be of Swedish descent—tall and blond.
While on morality and religious (Christian) issues there is a clear black and white divide, oftentimes in the secular arena (which also includes morality) the situation is much more gray. Consider the Cold War, when those westerns were made. The United States opposed Communism--as it should have--but did so partially by propping up malevolent dictators.
Many of God’s followers in the Old Testament murdered people, too. Rather than it showing approval by God for such behavior, it shows that man is fallen, but God still loves him and can still use him.
No we don’t have to have three wives to attain Celestial Glory. One will suffice.
I enjoy watching Big Love, it is an intersting show. From an LDS perspective I can see why polygamy was discontinued. It is next to impossible to practice that in these modern times. I know I couldn’t do it.
And contrary to popular myth, most LDS members back in the day didn’t like the idea of polygamy and did it because they were obeident and saw it as God’s commandment.
I have ancestors who practiced it, and none really liked it that much.
Again, no we don’t have to have mulitple wives to enter the Celestial Kingdom.
Well, I wonder if they accepted Jesus Christ - in other words converted to that believe versus the Mormon take on getting to heaven or did they simply eliminate relegion from their lives.
BTY - it’s the pretty crazy part that will keep Mitt out of the running in the long run.
I started watching Big Love after I read Jon Krakour's (sp?) Under the Banner of Heaven and got hooked. Someone on the show did their homework (for once) because there is a lot of accuracy there like the main character getting booted out of the compound when he became a teen so that the old guys wouldn't have to compete with him for wives (there are ministries set up to try to rescue such boys from the streets).
Big Love and South Park are my guilty pleasures - and the only things I watch that aren't on the Food or Military channels.
