BEIJING (Reuters) - China denounced U.S. comments on its defense spending as "irresponsible" on Thursday and defended its military budget, saying it was open and transparent. ADVERTISEMENT

Foreign Ministry spokesman Qin Gang also called on the United States to stop selling weapons to Taiwan, the self-ruled island China considers its own, and to refrain from "sending any wrong signals to Taiwan secessionist forces.

We oughta deliver (and maintain) a few dozen nukes of various yealds to Taiwan for them to keep as their very own. Then when the Chinks want to “unify” Taiwan, they can just say “fine—UNIFY THIS”.
Nobody should have to worship at the alter of Commiechinkdom. Not even the Taiwaneese.

"China sticks to the role of peaceful development," Qin told a news conference.

As you make Red China more wealthy and it becomes more militarily capable, it will become more arrogant.

That is a Russian Ship I believe the Chinese purchased. It’s purpose IMO is to keep the US focused on Aircraft Carriers. Capital ships are really no problem for a Major Nation State like China the US or Russia. A battle group can be destroyed with ease by any nation willing to use tactical nuclear weapons. As long as the Chinese can keep America committed to Major Capital ships like our Super Carriers they will have no trouble eliminating US Naval forces. If on the other hand the US created a distributed network of smaller ships with many small groups of planes aboard many it would get increasing complex for the Chinese to effectively destroy US Naval forces. But money is in the big ships so we are scr*&^d, blued, tattooed with a light coat of oil.

It's the Varyag, and the ChiCom are trying to build a strike group that can help them take back Taiwan and then dominate the far western Pacific. Our resident naval expert Jeff Head has been all over this for some time.

My little Bro is an AF LTCol. He use to fly the F-16 and he will tell you straight up that China is a huge threat now and our own economy is making them the most powerfull threat history has ever seen.

The Islamofacist’s are a danger but they’re never organized and will kill each other quicker then anyone else.

The Chi-Coms are as organized as a well oiled engine.

I’ve always believed the Taiwan government has at least a half dozen nukes of its own. If South Africa could develop these weapons in the early 1960s, no doubt Taiwan could.

Taiwan researched nukes with South Africa back then, but stopped due to US pressure.

I read this too. But always wondered if Taiwan didn’t look after its own interests.

Of course, you have no idea as to what you are talking about. A Carrier Strike Group is a very hard thing to kill, even with ‘tactical’ nuclear weapons.

Little carriers with little air-groups? Please.
