Customs and border patrol officers said they discovered 20 suspected illegal immigrants stuffed into a recreational vehicle in San Ysidro.
According to officials, they were hidden in various areas of a California-plated RV that entered the United States Tuesday morning through the San Ysidro border station.
Officials said they arrested a 54-year-old man who was driving the RV. He was a U.S. citizen with a California driver's license who lives in Tijuana, according to border officials.
A canine was used to screen the 1978 Dodge motor home, and the dog alerted agents to conduct a further search.
Inside, officers said they found 16 males and four females concealed in cabinets, a closet, a restroom, within a sleeper couch and in the passenger area. One of the passengers was a 12-year-old girl.
One man was from Guatamala, and the others were all Mexican citizens, officials said.
Three of the undocumented individuals were detained as witnesses, and the others will be returned to their countries of origin, officials said.
Cops were overjoyed ... twelve tickets for failing to buckle up.
I owned a 1978 23 foot Winnebago class c; sold it to my aunt and uncle 22 years ago.
They still have it.
Only 20? Slackers. They could have fit at least 50 in there!
We as a civilized nation must remember these poor people must be treated humanely. Provide them free flights home.
The RV wasn’t ventilated, was it ?
Was Bush driving?
LOL!
‘78 Dodge motorhome ? What was their first clue ?
The driver was just doing work americans won’t do.
Koyote-in-chief
I pulled into a convenience store not long ago and watched 10, yes 10, mexicans get out of an S-10 chevy pickup. It was like watching clowns file out of a volkswagon at a circus.
Yep.
Even the illegals know enough not to trust Ted Kennedy.
Take them all to the White House. We taxpayers pay for those state dinners; our illegals deserve the best.
Cool, twenty out of 20 million is one-millionth, by my calcs. Good start. Only 19,999,980 to go.
Just doing the RVing Americans are too lazy to do!
LOL, I don't think any of us would be surprised if it was him!
