Translation: Thanks for all the $$$. And keep that low wage labor coming!!!
Oh, and don't worry about us paying them benefits. We'll leave that up to the stupid middle class tax payers.

“When he speaks to builder groups he often uses the code word “strong economy” and “growth.” What he really means is wage depression to jucie short term profits at the expense of the American standard of living.”

And I thought I couldn't be more ashamed of a president than I was of Carter. Then I got Clinton. And I thought I couldn't be more ashamed of a president than I was of Clinton. Then I got Bush. Is there a web site where I can sign a petition to have him impeached?
How about one to impeach my two seditious Senators?

That woulda made a great contrasting story to this entire debate, and timely.
Too bad for us this is the ONLY issue on which the media sides with Bush.

"The reality is, in America, that the construction industry and other sectors depend on foreign workers to fill jobs Americans are not doing."To me this implies an elitists view of the American worker being lazy and unwilling to work hard. Of course these jobs are less than desirable by most Americans, because THE EMPLOYERS DON'T PAY A FAIR WAGE FOR HARD WORK!!!
Essentially those employers are paying off our politicians to 'fix' the labor market for them, while selling out our country on virtually every level. I wish there was a place I could go to get my two votes for president back!
Dammed traitors all! To hell with them.

This speech reveals the unfortunate underpinnings of the Bush boom: cheap labor and cheap houses. Had these two things not been available, the economy would not have recovered much from the 2001-2 recession.
The tax cuts did help, but they were nothing compared to the stimulus of cheap labor and cheap houses.

All that conservative support for Bush in 2000 & 2004 has completely evaporated. Conservatives who contributed to Bush during the Gore hijacking, who stood with him on 9/11, who defended him against the Dems even though at the same time Bush was reaching out to these morons.
Bush has done one thing good: He succeeded in resurrecting the Rockefeller monster that has controlled the GOP for 60 out of the last 80 years.

The reality is, in America, that the construction industry and other sectors depend on foreign workers to fill jobs Americans are not doing. Sorry...but that's just horse shipping.
I lived in SOCAL in the 70's into the 90's....Once upon a time all the drywaller's, roofer's, painter's, concrete finisher's..et al WERE American's. Born AND raised!!!! Brown, black, white, yellow, red...didn't matter THEY WERE AMERICANS!!!!
Not any more......NOT ANY MORE!!!!!!

David Meyer, thank you, and I thank your board for inviting me. Joining us today is one of my finest Secretaries, Secretary Carlos Gutierrez, Secretary of the Department of Commerce. I appreciate you coming, Carlos, and thank you for being here. (Applause.) Carlos was born in Cuba. His folks decided that it would be best that he and they come to a free society. He rose to become the CEO of a major U.S. corporation, and now he sits in the Cabinet of the United States of America. That's what the American Dream is all about. (Applause.) And it's in this nation's interest to preserve dreams. It's MY DREAM that this country ENFORCES THE RULE OF LAW so that those people who are citizens to enjoy A DECENT WAGE so THEY can have THEIR children living in conditions that are beneficial, and not in squalor.
It's MY DREAM that this country ENFORCES THE RULE OF LAW so that those people who wish to EMIGRATE to this nation, ALL STAND IN LINE AS EQUALS....as this is supposed to a nation of EQUALITY.
It's MY DREAM that the President of the United States HONOR THE OATH HE TOOK TO UPHOLD THE CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.

Tuesday, I was near one of Ross Perot's homes...on Lake Texoma.
You know....he basically swung the '92 election.
While I understand your sentiment.....( because I feel used and abused on this illegal subject..) it's wrong headed.
And EXACTLY what Plastic Pelosi, Dingy Reid, and Teddy "the swimmer" Kennedy want..

SourceMeantime, temporary employees arrived Wednesday at a local food processing plant after an immigration raid Tuesday netted 167 illegal workers...
New workers showing up at the plant Wednesday said they were from a temp agency and did not know how long their term of employment would last at the plant.
Gee, seems they didn't have too much of a problem replacing them. Odds are pretty good the new employees are legal too.

Yeah, great speech.
Enough to nauseate any loyal American conservative.
It's "in this nation's interest to preserve dreams" but not our Constitution or the rule of law...
