Oh, I get it, Mexico's a mess because we have a Second Amendment. What more do they expect us to do, put the whole country on welfare?

Maybe that too.

But those 24,000 Mexican troops are fighting something of a live fire drug war. The drug lords’ troops are trained by ex-special forces troops (Zetas who include deserters) and are brazen enough to ambush convoys. In the last year civilian and military casualties have reached over 3,000.

But the real question becomes, even if we confisicated all our firearms and locked them away in massive armories, what make him think the drug money rich crooks couldn’t get their arms elsewhere?

In Mexico the guilty are armed and the innocents are not.

They need to work on that.

The US does need to work on its drug habit, though. We’re talking moral reawakening across the board. Its bigger than just drugs, but drugs are a pretty good marker, like the canary in the mine-shaft laying dead in the bottom of her cage.

His beef about the gun issue isn’t even worth responding to. But as far as the drugs are concerned, a nice big fence and extra border patrol agents ought to reduce the drug flow quite nicely.

Hey Mexico, “stop the flow” of your criminals coming into our country to buy weapons.

Stupidity of this caliber is almost Democratic in scope.

Seems Senor Medina could find gainful employment working for the DNC as a policy adviser.

I’m sure he would be taking a cut in bribe monies, but if he hooks up with William Jefferson, I’m willing to bet he would easily make up for any shortfall.

Hey, Eduardo. If the Mexico-US border was secured, they wouldn’t be ABLE to smuggle those guns across. But then, you’d lose the ability to get rid of your unsatisfied populace too.

I suggest they build a secure border fence.

"American law to me is absurd because people can easily acquire firearms."

Spoken like a true Mexican elite, the concept of poor, ordinary people being able to protect themselves is unheard of.

Mexican officials have repeatedly complained that the U.S. must do more to stop the flow of potent weapons -- including assault rifles and even .50-caliber machine guns -- that drug gangs often purchase in the United States.

We would be happy to fix that imaginary problem for you. Even though they cannot legally buy "assault rifles" and machine guns here in the United States, we can fix that perception right now. It's called the border wall. Now you elite, wealthy Mexican elites can deal with your own drug cartels and corruption and crime. They won't be able to shop over here anymore. Do you really expect that even this will leave drug cartels unarmed? They can buy machine guns almost anywhere in the world with drug money...anywhere except the USA.

U.S. calls Mexican leaders “corrupt” and “complicit” in fight against drugs.

There's a very easy way for the Mexican officials to solve that problem. All they need to do is to build a wall across the border to stop the influx of weapons.

Problem solved.
