One Million Letters For Legalization (gag alert)
The Statesman and The Border Line Blog ^ | June 14, 2007 | Eunice Moscoso

Eddie “Piolin” Sotelo, a popular Los Angeles-based radio host, delivered to Capitol Hill Thursday what he said were 1 million letters in favor of stalled legislation that offers a path to citizenship for illegal immigrants.

“I stand here on behalf of those who walk with you everyday. Those who wash your dishes and your cars, who take care of your yards and clean your workplaces, who prepare and serve your food at restaurants, who clean your house and take care of your children,” he said.

Sotelo was standing near a pile of boxes and stacks of letters which he said were from legal residents and citizens.

Sens. Mel Martinez, R-Fla. (pictured), Edward Kennedy, D-Mass., and Robert Menendez, D-N.J., joined Sotelo at a Capitol Hill press conference.

Martinez said it was important to let lawmakers know that many Americans support the immigration bill because they were hearing from many who oppose it.

Sotelo, who is nationally syndicated, said he was once an illegal immigrant but is now a permanent legal resident and is applying for citizenship.

Were all these fake letters in Spanish?

Menendez, Kennedy, and Martinez, figures. They should be careful, this could inspire the all the nativists.

a path to citizenship

I've really grown to hate that phrase being used in conjunction with illegals.

This is not over yet. Bush refuses to give up this easily. It's his stubborn character. As I predicted he would try to resurrect it and call it something else. We have to keep our guard up. We need to keep the pressure up. We have no choice but to fight. The oligarchy wants cheap labor and a destruction of the middle class and the millionaire democrats want votes they can count on. A marriage made in HELL.

STAGE TWO is to go after the people who hire illegals. Start giving them fines and arresting them. Just catch ten or 100 of them on the nightly news. The magnet will dry up and most of the 12 million will go home by themselves.

As an addendum, we should anonymously call the IRS, people working "off the books" means taxes ain't being paid. Make anonymous fliers and hang them around the neighborhood, name names. It's time to embarrass these bustards, whether they give to the GOP or Rats, we don't need them.

CALL! CALL! CALL! CALL! AND KEEP CALLING TILL THE LINES FRY!

WRITE! WRITE! WRITE! WRITE! TILL YOU RUN OUT OF INK IN YOUR PEN!

Bombard the Democrats as well, especially the ones that ran on an anti illegal immigration plank and the ones in marginal districts who could be vulnerable. keep pounding on them. This is a bipartisan issue not a Conservative or Liberal issue BUT AN AMERICAN issue.

STOP AMNESTY NOW!! WE CAN DO IT!!

The best way to stop Shamnesty

I have a vote of NO CONFIDENCE for our current congress and vote that no immigration be discussed until the border is secure. Illegals stay illegal............

Sign everything
NO CONFIDENCE

If this simple term can get attention in 1 loud voice, we may be able to turn their hand around. No discussion, WHERE’S THE PROMISED FENCE, and NO CONFIDENCE says it all

Bush Jr lost his chance for the high road when he did nothing for our border guards that were sent to prison because they did their job. He is the continuance of this problem and it equates to an embezzler being in charge of payroll because he has a better idea. His and the Congress ideas have gotten this country in this mess and they have lost the right to fix their problem. THE ONLY THING I AGREE TO IS “FIX” THE FENCE and stop illegal immigration. We will not talk about legalization until this is COMPLETE. period, end of sentence.

Are they all signed "Epstein's Mother?"

Most illegal immigrants are illiterate and cannot speak English. I'd bet these letters would make interesting reading. Maybe it's one letter photocopied a million times. That's how they often obtain Social Security cards.

The million letters might all have the same return address, too.. a vacant lot. That's what many police officers find when illegals fail to appear in court for drunk driving and other offenses. They also find out that Juan isn't really Juan. He might be Pedro. He might be Jose'. He might be ...?

Fake ID = fake person.

All of these illegals broke the law the moment they arrived and have been breaking numerous laws daily to work and live here.

They are not likely to comply with any new law they find inconvenient.

This would be comical if it weren't a travesty in the making.

I take care of my own children, my own yard, cook my own food for my family, wash my own clothes, . . . .
