Here's the text of the e-mail my friend sent sending the linked to video: Many analysts have discussed a 'conservative void' in the 2008 race. A new established conservative is emerging in this race and has just launched the begining of his campaign effort. We're not talking about Fred Thompson. We're talking about former Vice President Dan Quayle. Will he jumped into the 2008? It looks like he's moving towards it.

How about the retarded kid from Life Goes On? He’s from the same era. Anyone know what his politics are?
Dan allowed the media to “define” him so he’s not Presidential material.
YOU signed up to Free Republic last week, for THAT??!!
Corky 2008
Makes more sense than most of the candidtes.........
There is that, but speaking personally, I will see Hell freeze before I ever support anyone or anything associated with any Bush regime, ever again.
PLease, say it isn’t so, Joe.
” I will see Hell freeze before I ever support anyone or anything associated with any Bush regime, ever again. “
Hehehe...LOL...I think hell WILL freeze over before anything like THE BUSH REGIME rears its ugly head again . One thing I don’t forgive my beloved Reagan for was agreeing to accept Bushbaby Sr. as his running mate .
Do you know what? That has always puzzled me.
Way back then, I actually had some fairly high-level contacts in the Administration, and I never could get an answer that satisfied me.
It remains a mystery- to me, at least.
( And my tagline was true then, and is true now, as well... )
Quayle and Truman. Both are dead. One literally, the other politically. May they both RIP.
Hey, in 1976 Reagan floated the name of a liberal for VP in an attempt to prevent the convention from nominating Ford on the first ballot . . .

Poppycock ?”
It sounds more likely than some of the stuff I’ve heard over the years.
For whatever it’s worth, a Reagan/Ford ticket would have been a disaster in my region ( the South ) regardless of RR’s overall appeal. I will never, ever, forget how bitter- and vehement- my coworkers in the machine shop were over Nixon’s pardon.
“Rich boys Club! That’s all it is up there ( DC )- a bunch of fat cats looking out for reach other!”
( And also FWIW, I always thought Gerry Ford was a pretty good President, and a very decent man, overall, and the pardon was probably his best judgment- it just looked bad. )
You signed up here to knock Quayle? How nice. Quayle took enough heat from the media and he doesn’t need any more from some of you who call yourselves conservative. I think you’re a troll.
BTW ...Dick Morris spells tomato - tomaTOE ...hehe...
Quayle/Bush in '08! :0)
< sarcasm off >...

He had no choice. He was given an "offer he couldn't refuse"... Bush I was forced on Reagan to serve as a sort of "minder" and agent of influence for the CFR types to blunt or neutralize parts of his agenda. The same is true for many of the Cabinet appointees Reagan was forced to "choose".
What is truly remarkable about Reagan is how much of his agenda and vision he was actually able to accomplish despite being shackled to these Establishment balls and chains through political necessity.
