For several years it appeared the Bush administration had the sense his predecessors did not--enough sense to avoid the Pali quagmire known derisively and laughingly as "The peace process."

Whatever virus infected the president's brain on immigration appears to have also colonized the corner of his brain devoted to this mess as well.
