CA: New diet drug touches off a feeding frenzy

At 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, 12 boxes of alli, the first FDA-sanctioned diet drug to be sold without a prescription, were placed on the top shelf of a Santa Monica Walgreens' diet section. Four hours later, all but one had been sold.

"I have never in my life experienced anything like this," store manager Roe Love, a pharmacist for 20 years, said as she eyed the empty space next to the last box of 90 capsules selling for $59.99.

The fact that the product is kept with the rest of the diet drugs under locked glass on the shelf — to prevent theft — didn't deter people from requesting it.

I lost 13 lbs over 6 weeks with Costco Hoodia, and kept it off for two months now.

Did you have any side effects from taking the Hoodia? I tried an otc diet pill once and it made me very jumpy and jittery.

Nope. Neither has the other people I know that have tried it.

I think that Costco Hoodia has actual Hoodia in it. It seems to work too well to be fake.

Another similar cactus like plant with reputed appetite suppressant effect is Caralluma fimbriata . It has been eaten as a garnish in India for centuries, and thus has a tremendous safety record.
