Hillary on immigration, faith (gag alert)
NBC ^ | June 15, 2007 | Lauren Appelbaum

Posted on 06/15/2007 1:58:43 PM PDT by Baladas

At the National Hispanic Prayer Breakfast in DC this morning, Clinton wasted little time in bringing up immigration bill, stating her excitement that debate on the bill will once again convene with the hopeful goal of its passage. She reminisced about her childhood experiences, mentioning how she volunteered as a babysitter for young children of migrant workers on Saturdays, and realizing "at that young age, how similar their families were to mine." She tried to connect with the Hispanic preachers -- but did not repeat the mistake she made in Selma, AL by becoming a preacher herself and changing her mannerisms and accent to reflect her audience.

Clinton focused on the need for cooperation between Republicans and Democrats on immigration. Her speech followed those of Howard Dean, President Bush, and Sens. Ted Kennedy and Mel Martinez, and she brought up President Bush's position in the line-up. "There are those who say, well, President Bush and Senator Kennedy, they are so far apart politically. Well, yes, on many issues they are. But what is more important is where they are together." Clinton continued to emphasize her point. "When we compromise, that should not be viewed as a weakness but really what needs to happen in our system."

Hillary's happy because Bush and Kennedy are "together", at least she didn't morph this time and still pandered well.

The question is: were the people in the audience stupid enough to believe her self-aggrandizing manure?

Sure you did Ms. Pantsuit...just like you were named after Sir Edmund Hillary.

What a load.

This is not over yet. Bush refuses to give up this easily. It's his stubborn character. As I predicted he would try to resurrect it and call it something else. We have to keep our guard up. We need to keep the pressure up. We have no choice but to fight. The oligarchy wants cheap labor and a destruction of the middle class and the millionaire democrats want votes they can count on. A marriage made in HELL.

STAGE TWO is to go after the people who hire illegals. Start giving them fines and arresting them. Just catch ten or 100 of them on the nightly news. The magnet will dry up and most of the 12 million will go home by themselves.

As an addendum, we should anonymously call the IRS, people working "off the books" means taxes ain't being paid. Make anonymous fliers and hang them around the neighborhood, name names. It's time to embarrass these bustards, whether they give to the GOP or Rats, we don't need them.

CALL! CALL! CALL! CALL! AND KEEP CALLING TILL THE LINES FRY!

WRITE! WRITE! WRITE! WRITE! TILL YOU RUN OUT OF INK IN YOUR PEN!

Bombard the Democrats as well, especially the ones that ran on an anti illegal immigration plank and the ones in marginal districts who could be vulnerable. keep pounding on them. This is a bipartisan issue not a Conservative or Liberal issue BUT AN AMERICAN issue.

STOP AMNESTY NOW!! WE CAN DO IT!!

The best way to stop Shamnesty

Hillary, Bush and Kennedy are in agreement. The Republic is in danger.

“She reminisced about her childhood experiences, mentioning how she volunteered as a babysitter for young children of migrant workers on Saturdays,”

...and how she remembers being Hispanic herself. Her Father, Paco Juan Rodhamez, would take her to help him peeek tobacco. Her mother, Maria Conseulo Rodhamez, would take in the white man’s laundry for 10 pesos a month.

You can tell a person by the company he keeps. Unfortunately, Bush seems to be keeping company with scoundrels: Kennedy, Hillary, Dean and Reid.

What did she expect? That migrant workers lay eggs and eat their young? Why does everything this woman says sound either patronizing or like a painful statement of the obvious?

" . . . mentioning how she volunteered as a babysitter for young children of migrant workers on Saturdays . . . "

Since this would have been unpaid work, it's probably safely unverifiable. As if the MSM would bother to check it out anyway . . . Can someone remind me where she grew up, and whether there were likely to be migrant workers in her area?

I’m willing to entertain any and all factually based conspiracy theories now. What is going on with Bush, Lott, and company?

After reading this...only the most extreme GOP apologist would claim that there is a difference between Dems and GOPers.

Of course they were. Just look at how many continue to buy her garbage about cattle futures, travel office, FBI files, and, of course, the breath-stealing Monica revelation.

Can someone remind me where she grew up...

From Wikipedia...

Hillary Diane Rodham was born at Edgewater Hospital in Chicago, Illinois,[1] and was raised in a Methodist family[2] first in Chicago, and then from when Hillary was three on, in suburban Park Ridge, Illinois.

Park Ridge back then was, per others, very white middle-class; not an area likely to harbor or need illegal migrant workers.

More info at Wikipedia...

Okay, off to join her in rooting on her Yankees. Not.

Belated thanks for info on Hillary. Based on the area where she was living at the time - an affluent, white middle-class Chicago suburb - the probability of her babysitting for the children of migrant workers seems improbable, if not impossible. Sounds like another of Hillary’s whoppers.
