A whole lot of money. Campaign cash.
Certain businesses really like using illegals. They work hard, complain little, and cost a fraction of what Americans cost. And they don't have to pay a lot of benefits, health care, and social security costs for them.
It's modern slavery. Why did slavers fight to preserve their property?
I keep wondering why, with this booming economy and the 4.6 unemployment rate, both constant for two years now, we haven't really seen inflationary pressure from wages. Of course! The 20 million illegals are keeping wages down. Not having inflation is a good thing, but suppressed wages mean yours and mine--not a good thing if that wage suppression slips backwards due to illegals and we're forced to do more for less pay.
Big business is rolling cash to pro-amnesty politicians by the forklift load to keep this going and even codify it into law. The question for these politicians is, is all that cash going to keep you in office when we're getting really, really incensed about this amnesty bill? I've never seen so many regular people, from both political sides, as opposed to something as this amnesty bill. This has all the makings of a political rebellion. I think the stupid politicians are taking the cash, and the smart ones are trying to scam both the businesses for their cash while telling us (the vast majority of voters opposed to amnesty) that they're against it, and the truly devious ones will vote for some "compromise" they've already decided on that will give business what they've paid for.
I don't think they're going to get away with it. The blowback is going to be tremendous.
Thank you. You may indeed add that. I can’t believe I forgot it!
I am now a “Temporary American” I temporarily gave myself amnesty from paying taxes.
