President Bush Gets Best Grades on Taxes and the Economy, Worst on Immigration
Rasmussen Reports ^ | June 15, 2007 | Scott Rasmussen

Forty percent (40%) of American voters say that President Bush is doing a good or an excellent job on taxes. A Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey found that 39% say the same about his handling of the economy.

At the other end of the spectrum, just 15% say he is doing a good or an excellent job on immigration. Twenty percent (20%) give him positive marks on energy issues, and 25% offer that positive assessment on health care issues.

The survey was conducted on June 13 and 14 as the President was aggressively working to revive the Senate bill on immigration reform. While important to the President, just 20% of American voters want the bill revived.

An earlier survey found that 27% believe he is doing a good or an excellent job handling the situation in Iraq. The President’s Job Approval ratings have been at or near their all-time lows ever since the immigration debate began to dominate the news.

On three issues—Immigration (55%), Energy (53%), and Iraq (52%)—a majority of voters give the President a “poor” rating. Arizona Senator John McCain’s Presidential campaign has stumbled largely because he is so closely aligned with the President on two of these three issues.

On immigration, the President earns good or excellent reviews from 24% of Republicans while 48% in his party say he’s doing a poor job. Among Democrats on that issue, 10% say good or excellent while 60% say poor.

On the economy, there is a much bigger gap. Seventy-seven percent (77%) of Republicans give the President good or excellent marks for handling the economy. Only 10% of Democrats agree.

On health care, the President earns good or excellent marks from 44% of Republicans and 9% of Democrats.

On taxes, 74% of Republicans give him positive grades along with 15% of Democrats.

On energy, 41% of Republicans say the President is doing a good or an excellent job. Just 7% of Democrats share that view.

Surprising that he gets such good numbers on amnesty for illegals.

The economy will eventually tank if amnesty bill S.1348 passes.

This is not over yet. Bush refuses to give up this easily. It's his stubborn character. As I predicted he would try to resurrect it and call it something else. We have to keep our guard up. We need to keep the pressure up. We have no choice but to fight. The oligarchy wants cheap labor and a destruction of the middle class and the millionaire democrats want votes they can count on. A marriage made in HELL.

STAGE TWO is to go after the people who hire illegals. Start giving them fines and arresting them. Just catch ten or 100 of them on the nightly news. The magnet will dry up and most of the 12 million will go home by themselves.

As an addendum, we should anonymously call the IRS, people working "off the books" means taxes ain't being paid. Make anonymous fliers and hang them around the neighborhood, name names. It's time to embarrass these bustards, whether they give to the GOP or Rats, we don't need them.

CALL! CALL! CALL! CALL! AND KEEP CALLING TILL THE LINES FRY!

WRITE! WRITE! WRITE! WRITE! TILL YOU RUN OUT OF INK IN YOUR PEN!

Bombard the Democrats as well, especially the ones that ran on an anti illegal immigration plank and the ones in marginal districts who could be vulnerable. keep pounding on them. This is a bipartisan issue not a Conservative or Liberal issue BUT AN AMERICAN issue.

STOP AMNESTY NOW!! WE CAN DO IT!!

The best way to stop Shamnesty

“”...just 15% say he is doing a good or an excellent job on immigration.””

And yet he keeps pushing it. If only he fought so hard for some of his cabinet officials and nominees.

"On taxes, 74% of Republicans give him positive grades along with 15% of Democrats."

This comes as no surprise. A married couple who I am friends with are liberals and they were absolutely unaware that the federal income tax brackets were reduced across the board. I showed them that they are keeping 4% more of their paycheck per year than if we were still under the 2000 federal income tax brackets.

I also had to show them that the child credit is now $1000 per child and they have 3 kids. They are as ignorant as you'd expect from brain dead Bush-haters. They can't even figure out what the government is, or is not, taking from their paychecks.
