Was in Hawaii a few years ago with my family. We took a tour to the Kileua Park area. On the way the guide ( a raving enviro) talked about how much unemployment they had and how terrible it was on the locals. I then noticed a bunch of cars with a “No Rockets” bumper stickers. The guide explained it was locals against having a private rocket launch facility. The main objection was the pollution from the rocket launches, despite the fact this would bring in LOTS of good high paying jobs and a whole lot of support industries to make this the “Caneveral of the Pacific.” MY comment, “ let me get this straight, you guys have a Volcano which has been in continuous eruption for more then 20 years and you are worried about a few commercial rocket launches? DID NOT endear me to the Gaia worshiping tour guide....
