BBC Report: Network’s Bias Due to 'The Inherent Liberal Culture of its Staff’
BBC/Telegraph/Newsbusters ^ | June 17th | Noel Sheppard

The BBC likely has done two things no major American media organization would dare: go through an internal investigation of its reporting biases, and; share conceivably unpopular results with the public.

The debate on this is now over. The BBC has from it's own lips admitted that it has a liberal culture and bias. And just compare them to any american outlet you like.

BBC does not = Fox, a non lib outlet.

BBC = nearly everyone else, who are long known to be liberal media outlets.

Sure why would they care about admitting the obvious. They are a taxpayer funded monopoly. What fear can they possibly have? They are immune from the constraints of the marketplace.

They are insulated from any conceivable backlash by a liberal dominated government. Even should the Tories win an election they are unlikely to assault the independence of the BBC which is a traditional hallmark of modern Britain.

That’s a really excellent point. Hello PBS!

This should be a catalyst reason for the BBC to be privatized. If I were british I’d be pissed by having a self admitted government funded propaganda mill.

Goebbels would be proud.

Being government run they are inherently *NOT* independent, but you knew that. It’s only by being private are they truely independent.

It’s very sad that the british government is in bed like this. They do not deserve this kind of insulation.

I can just imagine how envious and jealous that american liberal media outlets are of the BBC.

If the celebrities were being beheaded by terrorists the BBC staff would be lining up to have their heads behead because it would be the coolest thing... And they wouldn’t want to offend the beheaders, otherwise they might die being thought of by their peers as some kind of uncool conservative racist who discriminates against poor hapless minorities.

Couldn’t the UK sell off the BBC as common stock and put a little money towards their military or debt or something?

The BBC should now label itself with every broadcast, it should be noted and be on the screen that they work for the Leftwing and are admitted Liberals.

LBBC.

Yes you are correct.

The BBC governing board is for the most part insulated from the usual political winds of the election cycle. As long term appointees they are not subject to the whims of the political class.

On the other hand as can easily be seen by the threats made by the Dims to reinstate the “Fairness Doctrine” to radio, being private does not guarantee independence.

A staff impartiality seminar held last year is also documented in the report, at which executives admitted they would broadcast images of the Bible being thrown away but not the Koran, in case Muslims were offended.

This indicates, among other things, the cowardly nature of journalists. They know if they print something that offends the Muslims they're likely to get their a-- kicked (or worse), whereas they can feel free to offend the Christians all they wish, knowing that they won't be hurt.
