Military spouses are frequent targets for charlatans, so theyre frequently warned to maintain a healthy skepticism. But the latest identity theft scam targeting soldiers' families is enough to make even a veteran crime fighter's skin crawl.
Creeps are calling up military spouses, posing as representatives of the American Red Cross. The caller tells the spouse that his or her husband or wife has been injured in Iraq and taken to Germany for life-saving treatment. But the treatment cannot begin, the caller says, until the spouse provides the soldier's Social Security Number and birth date.

Punishment should be enhanced for those people.
If only politicians paid as much concern to this as they do to a fake climate crisis termed “global warming”.
This is a serious issue, and it’s going to get worse unless more is done about it.
Any question as to the party of the perps? Can we question if these crooks “support the troops”?
There should be a special punishment for anyone that takes advantage of situations that might leave people at a disadvantage. Hanging is too good for them....how about some Midevil punishment like dismemberment or disbowlment?
What really bugs me about these scams and pranks is that they seem to be in clusters related to bases. It’s almost like someone as a FRG call list.
Most folks didn't long survive the hot tar being poured all over their bodies.
Or perhaps just a good, old-fashioned skinning.

Nonsense: I think Hanging is a fine remedy for criminal scroats that take unfair advantage of military housewives.
