Mitt Romney responds to the personal attacks that have been made on him. It's a fantastic answer, IMHO. Check it out. View the video here.
So he's focusing on godhood & how's he going to join the ranks of divinity?
I can think of worse things to focus on.
While that's true, it's a half-truth. The rest of the story is "that's what Lucipher said after he got booted from heaven for having the same 'I will' thoughts" (Isaiah 14:12-14). [The Bible doesn't get into valiant spirits & less valiant spirits, Lucipher competing for the Saviorhood title, cursed skin colors based on pre-existent sides that were taken--that's all Mormon creation...so I'm sticking to the Biblical reasons Lucipher was booted].
The full truth when you read the Bible through and through is that there's one true God, God doesn't know of any other true God (Isaiah 43), competing with God as a god is called "idolatry," and lusting after godhood is not only idolatry but is the ultimate pride, which is both what Lucipher got busted for (along w/hate/murder/lying...see John 8) as well as being something God repeatedly says that He hates.
Colofornian, this is a political thread. If you want to start another “Mormons = Satan” thread, go to the religion section and hork up your opinion there.
I like someone who says what they mean and not what the people want to hear. However, I am too gun shy right now to consider anyone ever.
He was asked a question.
He responded.
He said what he believed in and how he thought a campaign should be run.
What’s wrong with that? How does your question fit in?
Mitt has a ton of energy. His cloths say “been campaigning all day” while his mind says “haven’t even started yet”.
I like the video. We could ask why didn’t you run for governor again.
The answer is in video. Mitt is an honest and smart conservative. He made significant accomplishments for a state in near crisis from liberalism. No way would the liberal institution of the state allow him to push back another four years.
I'm asking the question that the MSM is simply waiting for the right time to ask:
"Mitt, do you believe that the Oval Office is just a career step to prepare you for when you run your own world as a god?"
(For some reason, the MSM hasn't seen fit yet to ask that question...sometime before November of '08, that question will come)
Shame on you for shaming others.
You want to focus on a threatening religion? How about the one with over 1 billion followers many of whom are ignorant, violent and suicidal?
I didn't know we had only one faith that could be constructively critiqued. (I guessed I missed your universal edict)
Mormons are serving in the US military right now in Iraq bleeding and dying to save YOU from the jihadists
As hundreds of thousands of LDS missionaries spread spiritual death by getting others to buy into their working their way to godhood message.
and I don’t think the MSM will EVER ask such a question.
Oh probably not as I worded it, but Time Magazine & other MSM has already asked a related "godhood" question of LDS prophet-prez Hinckley. Hinckley responded in one of the interviews that the phrase focusing on becoming a god was "just a couplet." (In other words, he downplayed it).
I don't think the MSM will ask the question until/unless Mitt is the GOP rep. Then it will be no-holds barred on all questions pertaining to LDSism.
LOL, right.
And is that "one" God Christ, or his Father? The second question is why would Lucifer think that he could become God, if there is only one God?
Do you believe in the God of Abraham or are the Muslims more scripturally correct than you?
Great stuff! Advice to all, please don’t respond to the “gnats”.
Godhood is not something you inherit, nor is it something you grasp after. Even the Son of God from eternity didn't grasp after the glory He already shared with the Father (John 17:5; Phil. 2:6).
Extra gods is in violation of all kinds of Scripture...Isaiah 43:10, for example: "Before me no god was formed, nor will there be one after me." (So did Isaiah have it wrong? Should that verse have read: "Before me were millions of gods; and millions are in line"?) Or what about Isaiah 44:8: "You are my witnesses. Is there any God besides me? No, there is no other rock; I know not one." (Should that have been changed in the JST to "Are there other gods besides me? I know plenty?"). [see also Isaiah 45:14: "'Surely God is with you, and there is no other; there is no other god.'"]
And is that "one" God Christ, or his Father?
Even on the human level that is a bad assumption--to divide what God has not divided.
You meet a woman who says she is Mrs. Finkelbinderbottomschmauser. You say, "No way. I just met a gentleman who told me his name was Finkelbinderbottomschmauser, and I told them there's gotta be only one Finkelbinderbottomschauser name in the world, and he agreed with me." (And he was right) "And now you come along and tell me you share the same name. So which one of you is the real one?"
Obviously, if the two are married as one, they share the same identity without sharing the same "personage." If that's true at the human level, how much more intricate is the unifying intimacy of the Father and the Son.
Jesus always has been God (John 1:1). God always was God (Ps. 90:2). Jesus has existed from all eternity in a special relationship with the Father (see Micah 5:2). Even D&C 39:1 reads, "Hearken & listen to the voice of him who is from all eternity to all eternity, the Great I AM, even Jesus Christ..."
Do you believe in the God of Abraham or are the Muslims more scripturally correct than you?
Again, as indicated above, this is a faulty assumption (acknowledging the reality of the Son of God automatically brings addition into the equation--1 Father + 1 Son = 2 divine beings). But the correct mathematical understanding is 1 Father X 1 Son X 1 Holy Spirit = 1 God.
Well, I don’t care if he is a LDS or not. Religion should not determine the outcome of an election. That is everyone’s right to believe as they choose. Stupid MSM always trying to come up with something to trash someone. They are a worthless group of human beings...always out to destroy someone.
Ask Mitt, NAL. Go, ahead, ask him yourself: Which role is more important to him: The potential future POTUS seat in the Oval Office, or the supposed potential future throne of his own world? (You would label a suppose divine throne as the mere status of a "gnat." Does your god know that?)
