The cost of retrofitting airports to accommodate A-380 could be a problem. Heathrow in London has spent $885 million to prepare for the planes flights.
If you pack 500 folks on each plane, and ten of those planes take off every day for ten years straight, that's $48.50 per passenger just to pay for the upgrades. That's without ongoing expenses like maintenance, utilities, staffing, etc. How in the world did that ever pencil out?
