I worked with Presidents Carter and Reagan. Mr. Carter is much worse than anything you’ll ever read about. On the other hand, Mr. Reagan was probably the greatest president since Lincoln and Washington.
My reaction to Carter has gone in phases. Voted against him but tried to support him as president. His administration was such an embarrassment at the time you just couldn't deny it. After he left office I realized he had done horrible things to us (e.g. Iran) and that he either always was or later became an extreme leftist.

You had to almost feel sorry for Mondale. (I did say "almost".) Not that Mondale was just miles away from being a sorry bastard himself, but he was head and shoulders above a worthless boob like Carter. I'm sure Walter had to spend about three quarters of his time as running mate and then VP apologizing for the disaster that was Jimmah.
I could not agree more. I have some direct personal knowledge of Mr. Carter. I can't talk about it, but what I know made it crystal clear that this is not an honest or compassionate man, two of the traits he's widely and mistakenly admired for.
I never had the good fortune to encounter Pres. Reagan, but I also put him on the short list of greatest American presidents. He reversed a massive multi-decade socialist trend, and, as if that wasn't enough, he managed the ending of the Soviet empire without firing a shot!
