I have a feeling there is much, much, much more to this story that will never come out. :)

I wonder if Sen. John Whitmire will call in to KLBJ today. They were talking like he may call in and give his side of this story. I bet he won’t call.

If he calls in it will be right before 10...and he will only have enough time to declare her to be a Republican operative who is trying to stop him from keeping the children of Texas safe and healthy. :)

He should have a state-issued one. Perhaps he left the charger at home? :)

Perhaps he lost the charger somewhere when he was drunk...

Or maybe he was just getting low on minutes on his cell plan. :)

I was shocked to see the party designation in the article, even in the Austin American Statesman.

If you'll recall he's the Dem who came back from Alberqueque and broke the strike of the democrats. I would say he ain't too popular amongst the Ds.

Yes, I do remember that. Guess he was just thirsty for another scotch and water.

Back in the olden days, before MADD was so active, DWI arrests of Texas Legislators were fairly common. Staffers used put in money on a pool, to pick the first Legislator to be arrested for DWI each session.

We need to bring those days back. Some of the stories that the Capitol Police used to tell me.....

Why do I believe the story that the senator was drunk?

Because his belligerence cost him a vote. And, very likely the votes of this girls friends and family.

Only a drunk pol would make a decision like that.

Whatever it is, I'm pretty sure I don't want to drink it.
