Violence will increae for a time as the surge now goes into effect full-thrust.

But many Al Queda rat's nests will be finally uprooted as a result and Baghdad will be much more secure.

God's blessing be on our troops during this time of increased fighting.

I am watching C-Span 2 and Harry Reid just said this and that it was not in the morning news. Pray for our men and women.

I could be wrong, but the area where these brave men were killed is the same area that we are waging a full-scale battle. Right now, we are in a BIG battle for Baquba.

Bomb Iran?

“In Baquba, north of Baghdad, a U.S. airstrike that was intended to blow up a house where insurgents had placed a bomb hit the wrong building and wounded 11 Iraqi civilians, according to a U.S. military statement.

After civilians wounded by the errant bomb were treated, a Hellfire missile was launched into the targeted house. The military is investigating the incident.”

Something else you will never hear on Fox, "because it is out of context"

May God be with those families

Typical CNN cr*p reporting. Nothing whatever about anything being attempted or achieved; what progress we’re making; how many terrorists killed/captured or weapons caches destroyed; or what intel the locals are providing. Just a listing of casualties. We pray for them and for their families, and for all those who risk their lives for us. But we’d also like to hear what’s going on.

I followed the link to the CNN article, and was surprised there was no video of their cheerleaders, or the champaign party.

You hit the nail on the head.

Never any context. Never. Only the number of casualties.

Another zero-context report that makes it seem like our troops are sitting ducks.

We just launched the biggest offensive operations in several sectors of Iraq since May 2003, so it's no suprise that casualties are up.

Of course, youy won't hear any report that makes our troops sound like anything other but hapless victims.

Prayers for the families, honor and pride for the fallen.

I could be wrong, but the area where these brave men were killed is the same area that we are waging a full-scale battle. Right now, we are in a BIG battle for Baquba.

With the expected increase in casualties for our side.

But even the People's Dailey notes the momentum and cost to the bad guys.  Only Democrats don't seem to notice there just happens to be a major campaign with major battles going on.

U.S. and Iraq forces killed at least 41 insurgents in two days of an all-out offensive against al-Qaida network in the volatile Diyala province northeast of Baghdad, the U.S. military said on Thursday.

During the first two days of the assault dubbed "Operation Arrowhead Ripper," at least 41 insurgents have been killed, numerous weapons caches and five booby-trapped houses have been discovered, the military said in a statement.

The troops destroyed three "enemy safe houses" and a number of roadside bombs, the statement said.

"Ground forces also found a house booby trapped with improvised explosive devices in the Khatoon neighborhood near Baquba. The building was destroyed with a rocket from an air support helicopter," it added.

In an another development, the military called in air support to kill another four suspects seen planting roadside bombs, the statement said.

Early on Tuesday, the U.S. military said that 10,000 troops, including 2,000 Iraqi soldiers and policemen, have launched a massive assault aimed at hunting for the al-Qaida militants operating in and around Baquba, some 65 km northeast of Baghdad.

"Our combined forces have begun destroying al-Qaida operatives and their resources in and around Diyala province," said Brigadier-General Mick Bednarek of 25th Infantry Division, who is also deputy commanding general for this operation.

Baquba, the capital of the volatile Diyala province, is the stronghold of the extremist Sunni militants of al-Qaida.
