Why? We've been watching Fred all along and like what we see. What's so odd about that?
I'm not disputing what you like about him but it's based on one big assumption without any fact. It's tantamount to wanting to bet on a horse that has not yet been entered in the race!

People are free to back any person of their choice. They can write in a person if necessary.
Your line about undeclared is tired and worn. You have been told countless times that FDT cannot formally announce until his obligations with ‘Law and Order’ are up at the end of this month.
The Sun will rise tomorrow morning.
Fred Thompson will run for President.

I’m so confident that Fred will run that I’ve already sent him $$$!

This won't even be a issue in about 2 more weeks when he is going to announce around July the 4-8 th time period.

It's tantamount to wanting to bet on a horse that has not yet been entered in the race! It's called encouragement. Hopefully, he'll be encouraged by the support he sees, and this will assist in his making a positive decision. It's no different than proponents of a Duncan Hunter, Tom Tancredo, whoever, hoping and encouraging that individual to run when the time comes. I see nothing wrong with it.
Frankly, the only ones who see something wrong with it have another horse in the race, because our horse in the stable is polling far better than theirs, who's lagging in the first turn. That kinda puts things in perspective.
