The uptake here is that once you assume that Bloomberg does run, Rudi's numbers will have to go through the floor. The mayor can bash Rudi's record in vast detail and on the national stage at the 2008 final debates. And Bloominidiot would almost certainly take NY and possibly NJ and CA out of Rudi's column as a nominee, thus negating any Rudi appeal.

Rudi will tank by fall and possibly withdraw. Personally, I'd prefer that he'd tanks before Bloomberg entered so that future leftwingers know better than to enter a GOP primary.
