SARAJEVO: Bosnia’s 1992-1995 war claimed some 97,000 lives, or less than a half of a widely used figure, independent research revealed on Thursday.

“At least 97,207 soldiers and civilians were killed during the war,” Mirsad Tokaca of the non-governmental Research and Documentation Centre said, presenting the results of the four-year study.

Among the victims, 3,300 were under the age of 18, including babies.

Using hundreds of different sources, the organisation created a huge database containing names and other information on each victim, including photographs of more than 55,000 of them.

Although there are no official numbers, Bosnian and international officials have often used the figure of some 200,000 deaths in the ethnic war.

“The purpose of this research was to reduce space for manipulation with figures on war victims,” Tokaca said on the project financed by the Norwegian Foreign Ministry. ...

Sixty-six percent of those killed were ethnic Muslims, 26 percent Serbs and eight percent Croats, said Tokaca.

The organisation also plans a breakdown of the total into those who died from the “indirect” effects of the war, like the lack of medical treatment or conflict-related accidents.

In one such case, 12 babies died because a hospital ran out of oxygen, while in another, six people were killed when an airdropped parcel of humanitarian aid fell on them, said Tokaca.

Shouldn’t that read “Bill Clinton’s war in Bosnia?”

Are you under the impression that Bosnia was sitting around peacefully minding it's own business until Clinton decided to start a war?

What's really amusing here is that the BiH government and the major media outlets have been attempting to peddle the 250k dead scenario for over 10 years now while muslims were trying to claim that there were 250k dead muslims alone.

Muslims are trying to manufacture their own holocaust, not only have they had to reduce the Srebrenica numbers from their original projections but have had to import dead bodies from other grave sites to shore up their holocaust aspirations.

The Jews learned from this, the Jenin massacre ploy was quickly dismantled.

No, it should read “Bill Clinton and George W. Bush’s war in Bosnia?” since Bush has fully supported continuation of Clinton’s policies in that region.

It was precisely Clinton’s stooges who helped promulgate the war by insisting that Izetbegovic could renege the Lisbon agreement that all three sides had already agreed to.

The casualties of Bosnian Muslim civilians were augmented tenfold. (250,000 instead of 25,000) The Serb civilian casualties in WWII were diminished tenfold (80,000 instead of 800,000).

This trick was used to attempt to erase Croatian and Muslim genocide of Serbs in WWII because genocide has no statute of limitation.

That's what this propaganda ploy was all about.

It is important to point out this fact every time when someone mentioned "Bosnian genocide".

The only genocide that happened in Bosnia was the genocide of the Serbs in WWII.

Of course, the article does not mention that it was 12 Serb babies who died because hospital was PREVENTED to get the oxygen for neonatal department.

"Sixty-six percent of those killed were ethnic Muslims, 26 percent Serbs and eight percent Croats"

And of those 66 or so % , many were killed in the vicious inter Muslim fighting in Bihac between Abdic's Serb aligned Secular Muslims against Izetegovich's Islamist forces.

That’s because Clinton was able to create his phony baloney state of Bosnia, a state that Bush has fully supported with U.S. troops and aid.

Muslim on muslim violence is never counted as such, they always attribute those deaths as Serb caused.

Of course. The name of the game is "the Serbs are responsible for all deaths"

A new mantra.

Abdic was so popular in the Tuzla region that the Sarajevo gov't lines were thinned out through mass desertions of locals to his - and hence , the VRS- lines. Izetbegovic was forced to airlift in Mujahideen to bolster the 5th Corps lines.

So, on one side were the Infidels and Secular Muslims. On the other side, hard line Islamists with close links to Saudi Arabia and Iran.

Clintoon -and more than a few posters here- thought that a Muslim Brotherhood Nazi recruiting thug would be the ticket.

You couldn't make it up
