“Some claim Coleman is behind this one.
There are those who might well disagree with the idea of forming a Commission to study the question of whether Nazis and their families should get in line for payoffs from the United States.
I think these guys thought they’d padded this one so well with the Jewish Refugee Commission material that no one would catch on to what they were doing.”
This was put forward by Senator Feingold. Saying ‘some people claim Coleman is behind this one” is an unfair statement unless you have data to back it up. Few people objected to Feingold’s amendment on this.
Did you bother reading this piece of trash?
“Did you bother reading this piece of trash?”
This is a great question for ALL of the Senators on the bill as a whole.
I’m too steamed about the amnesty stuff to pay much attention to this WWII item. But I have this much info: it was introduced by Feingold as amendment 1176, passed with 67 votes, and had the headline “To establish commissions to review the facts and circumstances surrounding injustices suffered by European Americans, European Latin Americans, and Jewish refugees during World War II.”
As far as I can tell, this is another taxpayer-funded excercise in self-flagellation and historical guilt creation. Before we know it, we’ll be blaming ourselves for Hitler’s attack on Poland *and* Pearl Harbor.
