Cameron Diaz's bag with Maoist slogan raises ire (70,000 dead Peruvians resent Commie purse)

AGUAS CALIENTES, Peru - Actress Cameron Diaz appears to have committed a major fashion faux pas in Peru. The voice of Princess Fiona in the animated "Shrek" films may have inadvertently offended Peruvians who suffered decades of violence from a Maoist guerrilla insurgency by touring here Friday with a bag emblazoned with one of Mao Zedong's favorite political slogans.

While explored the Inca city of Machu Picchu high in Peru's Andes, Diaz wore over her shoulder an olive green messenger bag emblazoned with a red star and the words "Serve the People" printed in Chinese on the flap, perhaps Chinese Communist leader Mao's most famous political slogan.

While the bags are marketed as trendy fashion accessories in some world capitals, the phrase has particular resonance in Peru, where the Maoist Shining Path insurgency brought Peru to edge of chaos in the 1980s and early 1990s with a campaign of massacres, assassinations and bombings.

Nearly 70,000 people were killed during the insurgency.

A prominent Peruvian human rights activist said the star of "There's Something About Mary" should have been a little more aware of local sensitivities when picking her accessories.

"It alludes to a concept that did so much damage to Peru, that brought about so many victims," said Pablo Rojas about the bag's slogan. "I don't think she should have used that bag where the followers of that ideology" did so much damage.

Hollywood has had a longtime love affair with Communism and brutal Communist dictators. Steven Spielberg and Fidel Castro and Danny Glover and Hugo Chavez come to mind.

Yeah, she’s another example of a Hollywood blonde knowitall who hasn’t bothered to question her leftist culture. In the process, they make themselves look like utter fools.

“AGUAS CALIENTES, Peru”

Diaz was in, how you say, “hot water.”

I think the real question is, who is marketing Mao bags as “trendy fashion accessories”. Looks like the socialists are infiltrating the fashion world also.

Who is going to make a trendy bag with George Washingtons face on it saying, “One Nation Under God?”

,"Serve the People"
Can't get much more offensive than that.

Neither did "Work will make you Free" in the original German.

What does one expect from someone with no college education whatsoever. Funny how these uneducated Hollywood leftists think they know what is best for the rest of us. She is as much an expert on Mao as Hitler was on genetics. Besides, she has no clue that she is in Hot Water.

AGUAS CALIENTES, Peru - Actress Cameron Diaz appears to have committed . . .

It’s a sobering thought. Unlike WW-II, where even Bugs Bunny and Donald Duck and Betty Grable were all in on the side of the Good Guys, today’s Privileged entertainers (with a few exceptions) do not give a stuff about whether their country wins or loses a war!

Some of them would seem to prefer that the US loses! Unbelievable!

So what is this blonde bimbo Diaz doing, flouncing around with a Communist handbag in Peru? Who made that thing, and why can it be purchased in WAR-TIME USA? Why isn’t she in uniform, or at least on a USO tour supporting the troops, like the Andrews Sisters used to do?

The fact is, Hollywood (with a few exceptions) is the propaganda machine for the enemy. Even so, we still fill the theaters and watch their movies and make them rich.

Bizarre. Only in America.

I’ll tell you what, and here’s a Promise: I will take back everything that I have ever said or thought about Paris Hilton — and indeed she will have my Respect — if, upon being released from Prison she either enlists or uses some of her multi-squillions to entertain the troops and produce some of OUR PROPAGANDA.

Let’s see her painted on the sides of some of our war planes. Or pinned up on the walls of our side’s barracks. Or doing something naughty-and-amusing with a burka.

If she can do that, it would be a mastermind move.

Not holding my breath, but I hope she does it.

Meanwhile, there is the Hollywood Fifth Column to deal with. I dunno why America tolerates that, during a time of war. The entire industry needs to be Nationalized if it can’t behave. CNN too.

“While I am in no way defending her politics or that of most of the rest of hollywood, I really doubt this was malicious or even intentional for that matter.”

I`m not so sure about that. Most of Hollywood loves communism.
