Amnesty !? Considering the procreation rate of Muslims in general, calling for ‘amnesty’ or whatever for everyone descended from 17th century Spanish Muslims is like saying ‘ok, everyone in North Africa, c’mon in’, this land is now yours.
How stringent will be the requirements to prove one's descent from one of the Moors who left Spain? Authentic documentation of each generation may be hard to come by.
As for why a left-wing party would once again quarterbacking the drive to absorb a huge, unassimilated population, I really just don’t know. It must be a coincidence.
