Not as easily as you may think.
Pretty girls are seldom genuinely pursued by genuinely nice guys. Also, the abusive creeps that do pursue them are Academy Award caliber manipulators. So much is said that these girls "choose" bad guys, but it's the guys that choose them. These men have radar for a girl with low self esteem, and if she also happens to be attractive, they will DO anything, SAY anything, invest any money or any time, and manipulate anyone in order to "posess" her. She defends him to the hilt, because to her he really IS a prince charming, and she has no way of knowing otherwise.
He hides his history, and makes sure she can't find it at the same time that he's building her trust so she feels she knows him well.
Until she gets pregnant, meaning they really are tied together, she really IS in love with him, and often financially dependant as well. That means he's won his prize, and it's no fun anymore. Then he's bored, he blames her, is angry that he has to share his sex toy with a kid that cost money, and she wonders what what happened to the hero who so loved her. By the time she's middle aged, she laments that "fat chicks get all the good husbands,"
If a nice guy ever pursued her in the first place, it's not that she'd have no interest, it's just that he'd be himself and sincere, with no chance competing with a world class manipulator who's a better actor than anyone in Hollywood.
