I am sure her husband knew whether they paid her taxes or not. Can you imagine what would happen if we “little people” didn’t shell out our taxes? I hope this ridiculous couple has to pay for their dishonesty.
You see, there is a difference between earning an income and filing a tax return. If she earned no money, she is not obligated to file a return. Just because she said she had income doesn't make it so. If she earned no bucks, it would be quick and easy to file.
If the company did earn some bucks (over a minimun amount), and there is an investigation, audit, she will be obligated to show the source of that income. Aha. Suppose that income, if any, was from nefarious sources or it was her husband who was her only client. Or it was from his campaign.
I think the LA press will do some more 'vestigatin' if the Franchise Tax Board and various ethics committees will not.
