But if the food is grown in China, it makes a very big difference in food safety to me.

I would say the same thing about crops grown in just about any country except, New Zealand and Australia.

(1) I want Walmart to put what country their brand of canned vegetables and fruits are grown in and where packed on the can labels.

(2) How safe is the water in Chinese canned food products?
