The British government would receive a due response for awarding the apostate author Salman Rushdie, Majlis Speaker Gholam-Ali Haddad-Adel said on Sunday.
Addressing the assembly's formal session, he condemned London's June 16 move of placing the Indian-born author in the birthday honors list of the British Queen Elizabeth II.
The act has damaged sentiments of over 1.5 billion of the world Muslims who have demonstrated their outrage since then by holding protest rallies in different countries.
Rushdie has turned to one of the most disgusted persons worldwide after publishing his blasphemous novel 'The Satanic Verses' in 1988.
The book was a clear insult against the great prophet of Islam, Hazrat Mohammad (Peace Be Upon Him).
In 1989, Father of the Islamic Revolution, the late Imam Khomeini issued a fatwa (religious edict) against Rushdie for his blasphemous novel.
Terming Rushdie's awarding as a "shameful" and "bold" measure taken by the British government, Haddad-Adel said the world peace-lovers and freedom-seekers had considered the move as a "provocative and anti-peace" measure which would only add to the tension against Britain.
"How the British government which has political ties with Islamic states and governments and has been making benefits from these countries dared to act so unwisely?" said the speaker.
Stressing that the apostate author had not made any humanitarian services for the world needy persons or has not made any invention beneficiary to the mankind, Haddad-Adel said: "We believe there is no reason for honoring apostate Rushdie."
Referring to the act as a "blind hostility and mere irrationality of the British government," the speaker said: "Britain is the symbol of spitefulness and US is the symbol of ignorance in the eyes of the Easterners."
You ever get the feeling you can get away with murder in islam?
I for one, am dutifully impressed by Hazmat Mo-hamhead (Pizz Be Upon Him).
Hazrat
Perfect
Why are we affraid to go to war with 1.5 billion Mohammedens when they aren’t affraid to go to war with 5.1 billion of the rest of us?
We don’t mind killing them, but we don’t want to hurt their feeeeelings ;’}
To bad about their feeling, they need to get a real life.
would the IRN ever react in a manner other than that dictated by the Supreme Council? I think not, this trash barely deserves reading
