Palestinian organization spokesman calls release of message by kidnapped IDF soldier act of goodwill, blames Israel for impeding agreement with captors

"The organization's (Hamas') military wing displayed goodwill, which can be built upon towards the continuation of a prisoner exchange deal," Hamas spokesman Razi Hamad said in an official response to Monday’s release of an audio message by kidnapped IDF soldier Gilad Shalit.

In an interview with Al Jazeera, Hamed said the initiative should be taken advantage of to bring about progress towards an agreement with Israel.

The audio message, which was posted on a Hamas website, was the first sign of life from the soldier since his capture one year ago.

“The stubborn Israeli stance on the conditions and release of prisoners is the main obstacle standing in the way of the deal,” Hamad said.

He added that the release of the tape was a “positive sign” that should speed up the negotiation process. “I wish, inshallah, for there to be progress on this issue,” he said.

Shortly after the tape’s release, Popular Resistance Committees spokesman Abu Mujahid told Ynet, “The message we were trying to convey is that despite Shalit’s deteriorating health, we are giving him the best medical treatment possible within our limitations and capabilities.

“However, there is no doubt that his condition demands more serious care at a hospital.”

Mujahid said he wanted to tell Shalit’s family and the Israeli public that it is the Israeli government that is delaying the solution to the affair.

“We have no problem holding on to him (Shalit) forever, but you should know that it is the Israeli government that will be held responsible,” he said.

These Hamas b*****ds are Satan’s grandkids! Sadly, I doubt that Shalit is still alive. If he is, I don’t even want to think about what those demons have done to him. One day (please may it be very soon), Someone, and I do mean Someone is going to come down on Hamas and the rest of those Amalekites from Gaza to Tehran like stink on an old hog and then commence to hurt ‘em real bad, as outlined in Ezekiel 36-39.

“Why is his health deteriorating?”

Daily beatings, bad food, and infected wounds will do that to ya.
