FREDERICK, Md. -- Frederick City police said no one was injured when two home-made explosives were detonated in two locations, just over two miles apart Sunday night.
Police received reports of explosions on Wyn Court and in the 500 block of Hillcrest Drive about 9:45 p.m., authorities said.
One device was thrown onto a lawn on Wyn Court and exploded, but caused no damage, according to investigators. The second device exploded in a mailbox on Hillcrest Drive and caused about $35 damage.
The devices were made of unknown chemicals in plastic bottles, police said. The chemicals were washed away with water.
Officials said evidence indicates that the incidents are related, but they don't know what the connection is between the two locations

ping a ling
A coordinated, simultaneous boming, just like Madrid. This has al qaeda written all over it. /joking.
I dint see the connection at first, but Al Qaeda has evidently been training in my part of the world for at least the length of time there have been roadside mailboxes........I have uhmmm heard about a few of the alleged training excercises even as recently as 20 years ago......and now this...
Boys will be boys instead of being legal experts. They should have to slave for the owners of the mailbox for a week or two, though. Granted, many of my “law-and-order” Baby Boomer peers will want the punks to be thrown away for it.
Its all the rage with the kiddies on YouTube right now. They mix chlorine and rubbing alcohol in a plastic beverage bottle put the cap on and about 30 seconds later....BOOOM!
or..drano
