That’s what I thought. They’ve staged a few raids recently, but I think it’s meant as a demonstration that Bush intends to enforce the rules. But if shamnesty passes, it’ll soon stop and they’ll go back to arresting border patrol agents.
Highly publicized ones which gave the impression that GWB is now starting to crack down. But as you mentioned, it's all for show.
