I like Thompson and Hunter, but Hunter is the best man. The reason Thompson has more name recognition is because he is an actor.

True conservatives will eventually see that Hunter is the best man, and more conservatives will start to pay better attention after the summer fun is over.

You must understand that California has spent decades creating this and many other problems for themselves.

Is that right?

Ever hear of CA Proposition 187?

Californians passed this OVERWHELMINGLY in November of 1994, California voters decided to deny welfare, health care (except in life or death cases), and public education to undocumented immigrants.

You never heard of this?

The people of California voted in a free election and WON big. They did this while people in other states stood gawking.

What happened? The Federal government working in concert with the state government officials declared their free election, that they won big, ILLEGAL.

The results of this government intrusion can now be seen in your town, and everywhere else in America.

Duncan Hunter is my favorite of all the presidential candidates, because he is

1) STRONGLY pro-life - a 26 year pro-life history NO FLIP FLOP HERE;

2) the only politican that was EFFECTIVE on building a fence at a strategic place on our borders (which made crime go down tremendously in San Diego), AND it was Hunter’s bill that was signed into law to build an 854 mile fence;

3) knows his defense: AMONG OTHER THINGS was Chairman of the Armed Services Committee when the Republicans had the majority, fought hard for the missle defense shield, and personally, won a medal in Viet Nam & his son did two tours in Iraq, including Fallujah, and will do a 3rd tour in Afghanistan (so he has a lot a stake);

4) understands the Red China threat and China’s trade imbalance through cheating;

5) voted for traditional marriage between a man and a woman through HJ Res 88

6) A+ rating from the National Rifle Association;

7) 100% rating from the Eagle Forum.

(8) 92% rating from the American Conservative Union;

(9)100% from the Concerned Women for America;

(10) 100% from the Christian Coalition;

(11) 100% from the Campaign for Working Families.

DUNCAN HUNTER, the STRONGEST conservative of all the candidates - a man worth FIGHTING for, and a FIGHTER for conservative causes himself.

I will be able to vote for Fred Thompson without holding my nose.

OTOH, I enthusiastically support Hunter and urge others to vote for him as well.

I guess I am with you on that, but I just want this guy to either get in the game or go away. I want to begin hearing what he stands for and see if he is really this “real deal” that is being sold to the sheeple. If it is true, than great if not let’s find out now so that we don’t embarrass ourselves during the general and lose.

I actually admire Fred Thompson for waiting to announce. Beyond any legal or commercial obligations that he might have, it allows him to skip some of the idiotic restrictions that CFR imposes. He gets a lot of free publicity (Leno, radio, etc).

On top of the strategy, I think this election cycle started WAY too early. I admire him for waiting.

Unfortunately for Hunter, name recognition is a big part of the election game (’name’ is the ONLY thing Ms. Clinton has to run on). Hunter is the perfect candidate, probably better than Reagan, but Fred Thompson has the name and is acceptably conservative.

No problem.

The part where he/she stated, "You must understand" made me wince.

Some haven't a clue what has occurred in the past. Either that, or they have very short term, selective memories.

Thompson’s acting career has been largely limited to being cast as himself. Reagan had the same advatage and it served him well.

But frankly, Thompson made more of a political name for himself in 8 short senate years than Hunter has in a 28 year career in politics.

The first sign of a conservtaive is that he ISN”T a career politician.

Looks like real conservatives already figured this out... not that it was all that hard.

I've reposted this to keep things in prespective, in regards to what you stated below. ____________________________________________________________ You must understand that California has spent decades creating this and many other problems for themselves.

Is that right?

Ever hear of CA Proposition 187?

Californians passed this OVERWHELMINGLY in November of 1994, California voters decided to deny welfare, health care (except in life or death cases), and public education to undocumented immigrants.

You never heard of this?

What happened? The Federal government working in concert with the state government officials declared their free election, that they won big, ILLEGAL.

The results of this government intrusion can now be seen in your town, and everywhere else in America.

Yes, that IS right.

That's odd, above you stated the opposite stating Californians have created their own problems for decades. Which is it?

for every one step in the right direction in CA, they has been 20 in the wrong direction.

Not so fast my forgetful friend.

You do realize that the huge majority of California's problems stem from millions of illegal aliens right?

Do you understand this?

From over crowded classrooms, schools, jails, tax burdens, crime, fraud, to having their resources depleted by these millions of illegals.

Do you understand this?

You do realize that the huge majority of California's problems stem from millions of illegal aliens right?

Do you understand this? From over crowded classrooms, schools, jails, tax burdens, crime, fraud, social services, hospitals closing to having their resources depleted by these millions of illegals.

Do you understand this?

Lets take this a step further, and cut to the chase. Can you tell me which "major" problems California has that is not directly related, to millions of illegal aliens, and how Prop 187 would not have alleviated much of it?

No, in both cases I’m making the same statement.

California has a very long history of creating their own problems. They are very unfriendly towards business and commerce, so environmentally concerned that they have more of an energy crisis than the rest of the country, so “open minded” towards “open societies” that they are constantly on the verge of state bankruptcy in order to keep up with the social ills that creates, including the biggest illegal immigrant population in the nation, even though you are not the primary border state with Mexico.

So YES ... California has created most of their own problems.

That’s not to say that some have not made efforts to correct this, as you suggest. But as you say, keeping things in perspective, California has been far more wrong than right by contrast comparison.

Is that right?

You do understand California has roughly *twice* the economy of the red state Texas, right?

So YES ... California has created most of their own problems.

I'll ask again, exactly, what, if you can be specific are all these *major" problems California has, that is NOT related to millions of illegal aliens?

Take your time.

Exactly WHO is responsible for the number of illegals in California, and the fact that despite a fence, the number is still growing?
