If They Can Make It Through the Border
National Review Online ^ | June 26, 2007 | Deroy Murdock

“America is still the land of opportunity,” Senator John McCain recently said. “And we’re not going to erect barriers and fences.”

Unlucky us.

Along with Massachusetts Democrat Ted Kennedy, the Arizona Republican cosponsored immigration legislation currently crawling through the Senate. McCain should recognize that without a barrier or fence, the U.S./Mexican frontier will continue to welcome Islamic extremists pledged to America’s doom.

This is not hypothetical.

“Members of Hezbollah, the Lebanon-based terrorist organization, have already entered the United States across our southwest border,” declares “A Line in the Sand,” a January report of the House Homeland Security Subcommittee on Investigations, then-chaired by Texas Republican Michael McCaul.

The study cites FBI Director Robert Mueller’s March 2005 congressional testimony confirming that, “there are individuals from countries with known al Qaeda connections who are changing their Islamic surnames to Hispanic-sounding names and obtaining false Hispanic identities, learning to speak Spanish, and pretending to be Hispanic immigrants.”

(snip)

-- Tijuana café owner Salim Boughader Mucharrafille was arrested in December 2002 for smuggling into America more than 200 Lebanese, including suspected Hezbollah associates.

-- Beyond Islamic prayer mats among the cacti, Jim Hogg County, Texas Border Patrol agents found a jacket with Arabic-language patches. One reads, “martyr” and “way to immortality.” The other depicts a jet flying into a skyscraper.

(Found along the Texas border)

Bush, Graham, Kyl and Lott may be secure in their gated communities from the problems associated with the illegals (except of course for their servants), but the jihadis may not be so easily kept at arm's length.

I just called the RNC and told them to remove me from the membership - I will NOT be giving to them again. Phone: 202.863.8500. Hurt them in the wallet. This type of pressure might hurt more.

“Bush, Graham, Kyl and Lott may be secure in their gated communities”

I know it’s a pipe dream but we need to remove Secret Service protection from former Presidents 4 years from the end of their term. Treat them like the rest of us. I don’t care if they are kidnapped and held hostage.

"Ted, your ideas of personally drowning the innocent, letting invader alien murderers and rapists go free,
your silly virtual fence which promises hundreds of thousands of Islamicfascists with bombs in our schools,
and your America-Chappaquidicking 'Invader, Felon and Disease Importation Act of 2007' are truly brilliant,
but your idea to replace all TSA Inspectors with bloodthirsty Gazans on Kennedy-Z-Visas to slaughter Americans is inspired."

We know whose hands the blood wil be on when Al Qaeda sends its bombers illegally through our porous borders to blow up Americans. It will be on the hands of teh Seantors who voted “aye” today.

But hey, why should they care if other Americans get killed? They’ll still be in power, so tehy think.

McCain and other supporters of the open border cover their criminal complacency with platitudes. The devil take them all.

I’ve wondered that too. Can they be this stupid, or must there be an angle?

It is probable that dozens, if not hundreds, of people from the countries of concern enter legally through airports, then overstay their visas for every one that wades the Rio Grande.

There are lots of good of good reasons to build a fence, but given our other vulnerabilities to terrorism, this is not high on the list.

Does that include Fred Thompson?

Fred Thompson voted YES on allowing more foreign workers into the US for farm work. Vote to create a national registry containing names of U.S. workers who want to perform temporary or seasonal agricultural work, and to require the Attorney General to allow more foreign workers into the U.S. for farm work under H-2A visas. Reference: Bill S.2260 ; vote number 1998-233 on Jul 23, 1998

The stupidity of those platitudes we keep hearing on this issue is one of the worst insults to the American people in the whole sorry affair.

Check out this liberal blogger I pissed off at the Ostroy Report. I was just listing people killed by illegal aliens and he couldn’t take any more.

Already did that, it still took me over a year before I’d admit to myself that Mel Martinez really was as bad as I’d feared.

What can I say? The GOP was my party, roots going back to its inception - one of the Radical Republicans during Reconstruction was my direct ancesor. Now it’s in shambles.

I did that years ago when President Bush was signing every spending bill put on his desk.

I only donate funds directly to those whom I feel have the best interest of America at heart.

Riiight. Terrorists are smuggling heavy weapons in through the airport. Riiiight.

All you need is 5 of these pukes to smuggle in one nuclear weapon to bring this country to its knees... and it doesn’t even need to be a fission bomb.. just a dirty bomb is good enough.

But yeah.. no rush or anything in sealing up the border.

This is why they are traitors. All of them.

Immigration laws are every bit as important as fighting terrorists in the middle east. IMO.
