Washington, D.C. By a vote of 65 to 34, the U.S. Senate voted today to proceed with debate on legislation granting amnesty to millions of illegal immigrants currently living in the United States. Congressman Duncan Hunter (R-CA) responded to the Senate vote by declaring it a vote for amnesty.
The Senate today demonstrated that it is not interested in listening to the American people, said Congressman Hunter. Rather than rejecting this legislation, the Senate instead voted to bring it one step closer to passage. Border security and interior enforcement are what the American people are demanding; not citizenship benefits for those living in the United States illegally. This bill, regardless of what my colleagues in the Senate may say, is still amnesty.
The idea that amnesty will have to be accepted in order to achieve border security is unacceptable, concluded Hunter. The American people want secure borders and that is what they deserve.
Hunter PING
He calls a spade a spade, as always.
Our President and Congress are clearly out of control.
Hunter never tires. He has fought this battle relentlessly for 26 years - just as often against his own party as the dems.
I just sent my reaction to W’s speech of today to comments@whitehouse.gov It wasn’t pretty.
We need to regain control of our government.
He is right.
I hope it doesn’t get down to him (the House) to stop this, the “yes” votes today for cloture were for amnesty as Hunter says, and they all know it.
America doesn’t deserve: Trent Lott, Jorge Bush, Ted Kennedy, Juan McCain, Mitch McConnell....
We get it’s a vote for amnesty Congressman, problem is how the hell do we stop it ???
Hunter in 2008!
Contrast that with Fred stating on Hannity and Colmes that we aren’t going to deport the illegals.
Heard on Glen Beck about the drug cartel owned trucks that are going to be running through Tx.
Does this mean that GW, Kennedy and Clinton(who helped on this deal)are in the drug business?
Fred's a holloywood celebrity, doncha know.
I wish they’d let Hunter visit the senate and talk to those R’s that voted for cloture today!
I'm open to suggestions. How?. The Republicans aren't interested. The Democrats offer no help. The whole thing is a train wreck.
The Senate just proved they could care less what the people want, its what their big money contributors want that counts.
This wont stop until we march on Washington with ropes for those guilty of treason.
