Libs in Louisville put “Ditch Mitch” on their bumbers. I never thought I would agree with them...

If an incumbent runs, vote for someone else. Our political system has run amok and needs to be replaced. From the Presidente Jorge to the local dog catcher.

It must be ‘nuts in a vice’ disease.

In this case, it's his Labor Secretary wife who's squeezing them.

So it’s “Follow the Honey” rather than “Follow the Money” in this case?

Mitch McConnell is married to Bush's Secretary of Labor Elaine Chao.

That explains a lot. He is probably getting tired of sleeping on the sofa.

ROTFLOL I love Photo Shop ;)

On a serious note: "Mr. McConnell finds himself in the crossfire between a majority of his own senators, who oppose the bill, and President Bush, who desperately wants it to pass."

Why should our President DESPERATELY want this to pass? It makes no sense... all this intense determination from a man who couldn't muster up a veto in 4 years... Iraq and Immigration. I just don't get it.

Please explain that picture?

From Wikipedia:

George Prescott Bush (born April 24, 1976), is the eldest of three children of former Florida Governor Jeb Bush and his wife Columba. He is the nephew of the President George W. Bush and the grandson of former President George H. W. Bush.

His mother, Columba Garnica Gallo, was born in Mexico, and his heritage has made him a popular figure with Hispanic voters.

Does that explain it?

Regards,
LH

Well make him angry, Senator!

Or, is "Lord of the Flies" style party powerbrokering more important to you then your personal independence and responsibility to your state and nation?

IN THE END EVERYONE WHOSE OPINION IS WORTH A DAMN WOULD RESPECET THEM FOR THAT..

So does Republican leader Mitch McConnell have a plan?

Yes: to hang on to the GOP corporate donors, and hope voters will forget about all this before the next election.

Dear Senator McConnell:

First of all I am a native Kentuckian and am a practicing Certified Public Accountant here in Lexington and my family has been extremely active over 5 generations to support what the Founding Fathers gave us.

I have supported you in every election and would like to be able to in the future. I am a Viet Nam era veteran and took an oath just the same as you have.

That oath is to, “support and defend the Constitution from all enemies both foreign and domestic”. When I was discharged there was no release from that oath either and I feel that I must now speak up in support of that oath.

ANY VOTE TO SUPPORT the present immigration bill is a violation of the oath you took. Your obligation is to the Constitution not the President and this bill.

I have great admiration for your fight against the McCain-Feingold bill and your efforts to defeat that attack on the Constitution. I hope you will step back and reconsider your support of the present immigration bill.

Thank you for this opportunity to permit me to express my support for the Constitution which so many have given all that we might have the REPUBLIC that our founding fathers gave us.

Sincerely,
pcpa
