From the end of the article:
"We have rights, too, and the way we are proceeding is fully within the rules of the Senate," he said. "It's going to be a rough ride. We're in trench warfare, and it's going to be tough, but we're going to see the will of the Senate worked one way or the other."Get that? The will of the Senate? What about the will of the people you are allegedly there to represent? Wanna know who said this? None other than Arlen Specter. Who could have guessed.

You got that right brother.
Of course that’s easy here in Maryland, all the incumbents are Democrats. The National Republican Party spends about $4.98 here and thats for phone calls saying they wont send any money.

This bill is going to die.....as, I hope, are many political careers in 2008....
These elitist $cum have no idea how unpopular this abomination is across party lines....
We are not racists...just patriots that wish to see our nation secured....where legal immigrants are allowed access after critical review of their backgrounds.....
In addition, to tar and feather opponents with bigot and racist accusations has only incensed my belief that these bas-turds need to be put out to pasture in 2008....they are so distant from reality that they have no idea of the anger they have unleashed....
Oh how I wish for a real 3rd party.....

...it is time for new leadership! I'd settle for some leadership. Wanting "new" leadership infers that what we've had up until now would constitute some form of leadership. I can't see any leadership in any form coming from the US Congress. All I see is a bunch of deaf, self-absorbed, hispandering nitwits in an all out race to sell out their country and everything it stands for...

I actually thought him not being there was a good idea. It allowed the republicans to be “represented” by anti-bill people.

It worked for Benedict Arnold - NOT!

Mitch McConnell is married to Bush’s Secretary of Labor Elaine Chao——
These people who work inside the beltway are a disgusting, incestuous ball of snakes.

McConnell himself is up for re-election in 08.
He has been good on some issues, but not Amnesty.
Perhaps he should retire...
To: Shazolene
possibly McConnel has seen his day and should retire.
