WASHINGTON (AFP) - The United States asked Iran to live up to commitments to bring about a stable Iraq, saying it was critical for resuming a dialogue with Tehran on Iraqi security, the State Department said Wednesday. ADVERTISEMENT

It was responding to Iraqi requests for such a meeting, first held in May. Tehran has said it was awaiting a US response on resuming the dialogue.

"We'll take a look and see when a meeting is appropriate but it is important for Iran to follow through on its stated desire to have a more stable Iraq and today, their activities remain in distinct contradiction to that stated goal," State Department spokesman Sean McCormack told reporters.

U.S. to engage in dialogue with Iran would be a WIN for them. Shouldn’t even be considered.

Iraq is a backward Muslim country. Its religion permits no kind of secular government, only rule by witch-doctors wearing funny hats.

Forget democracy as we know it. Iraq is as far from self-government as it can possibly be.

Now what?

There are many enemies of freedom around the world. We must continue to work to nourish it as best we can.

Considering the reports of outright, overt, action (ie Iranian choppers picked up and watched several times bringing teams across the border to plant their IEDs)... I’d say cry.

The whole idea that Iran wants stability in Iraq is about as mind-numbingly stupid, as the idea that the Hezbo’s aren’t taking orders from Iran, or that the IEDs that come from Iran are not ‘coming from the Iranian government’, or any other piece of the self-dilludted BS candy coating people are putting on the situation.

Now What?

Considering your attitude, you stick you head back into the sand and hope we can ‘defend the hell’ out of the country.

It will take an infinite amount of time, and an infinite amount of money... but since you are apparently unwilling to do the hard work over there, it IS your only other option.

Obviously the “RoP” line is pure BS, and there is a very strong, and very large problem within Islam today. But at the same time, I do not accept that every Muslim is my enemy.

To put it another way... almost every terrorist is a muslim, but not every muslim is a terrorist. The MSM certainly are underestimating the threat, and I understand the reaction to that is feeling the need to overestimate it, but I really do think you do more harm than good when you decide that weather they think they are or not... to you every muslim ‘does’ hate you, and should be treated in kind.

To put it in a cynical manner that might speak more to you... why fight 100% of them, when you can neutralize even 20% off the top?
