Dear Mexican President,

If your country is such a hell-hole that 12,000,000 of your citizens risk life and limb to leave it and come to ours, we hardly see a reason to take your advice on how to run ours.

I don’t doubt that the bulk of those immigrants are hard-working family oriented people. Indeed, that is their motivation, to make a better life for their family. And they came to realize that there was no way to counteract the corruption and oppression in their native country. Hence their desperate move. (Of course all did not have such a noble purpose in mind).

Do you fear their motivation? Are you glad to see them go lest they get the gumption to stay put and take back their own country? Are you afraid of 12,000,000 of them who now realize what living in a free country with unlimited opportunity is, all about coming home and demanding the same in their native land?

For too long the US has been the pressure relief valve for failed governments to the south of us. We’ve accepted individuals out of a sense of compassion for them individually. But we didn’t realize the unintended consequence of taking the most motivated away from their countrymen, leaving those unable to escape to the tender mercies of their oppressive governments.

Is that your fear, that you will have to face ALL your own people?

Up yours, Calderon.

Come get your 20 - 30 million illegal aliens. We don't want them here.

The problems weren’t being confronted before this bill so there’s no reason for Americans, born here or immigrants who came here legally and became citzens, to believe this bill would correct or confront those same problems. All this bill would do is legalize criminals, illegal aliens, who are sucking this country dry along with those on welfare and all the entitlement programs/socialism FDR started.

He should worry about his own country. It irks me when people like him, any foreign government, thinks they have any say in what goes on in this Country.

I want a fence built. I want our borders controlled. I want illegals deported. I don’t care how much it costs because the cost will be far less, imo, than it will be to allow them all our benefits or giving them amnesty when they came here illegally.

My state has a problem with illegals but most of them are muslims rather than mexicans. We have the latter problem on a lesser scale.

I agree with all those who say our borders should have been closed and protected since 9-11-01. I don’t want to hear anything about immigration reform until we secure our borders. My grandparents were legal immigrants and eventually citizens. My father was a WWII Vet. We have relatives and friends in the Military. We value this country.

"It's a grave mistake first because it's a problem that's not being confronted, and with this evasive action the U.S. Senate is making it worse," Calderon told reporters in Mexico City during a joint news conference with President Daniel Ortega of Nicaragua, who is finishing a two-day visit to the Mexican capital.

Up yours, Calderon. Take your trash back....we got plenty of our own.

What’s wrong with this picture? The President of Mexico is mad that we want to stop the people of HIS country from sneaking into OUR country. Hmm, I guess that would spoil their plans to reclaim America.

Does this jerk even know what he’s talking about? I think he & Ted Kennedy need to READ the bill, because they make it sound like something it’s not.

On second thought, they are all liars, or they think we are the stoopidist people on this earth!

It’s true, we do need to confront this. And make them all go back to Mexico. No to reconquista.

Hey Calderon - BIOYA!

1. We're just doing the work Mexicans won't do - controlling our borders.

2. You seem to have the ideas of 'legal' and 'illegal' confused

3. We will need the fence, and we will build the fence, and we will guard the fence until you get your a$$ and your economy in gear

President Felipe Calderon of Mexico reacted sourly to news of the Senate's rejection of the proposed immigration law overhaul, calling the senators' action "a grave error."

He and the other brown supremacists in the bush cartel can ESAD.

All we need to do is let "El Presidente" know that we're going to implement a "Mexican style" immigration policy! I'll bet I'd be able to hear him scream like a stuck puerco!

Hey, if that stuff is good enough for Mexico, it should be good enough for us!

Mark

The following was from the defeated bill. It addressed Mexico specifically and declared that the endemnic private and public cultures of corruption are the root of Mexico's problems....

(1) increasing access for poor and under served populations in Mexico to the financial services sector, including credit unions;

(2) assisting Mexican efforts to formalize its extra-legal sector, including the issuance of formal land titles, to enable Mexican citizens to use their assets to procure capital;.....(IOW...send US Dollars)

(3) facilitating Mexican efforts to establish an effective rural lending system for small- and medium-sized farmers that will--

(A) provide long term credit to borrowers;

(B) develop a viable network of regional and local intermediary lending institutions; and

(C) extend financing for alternative rural economic activities beyond direct agricultural production;

(IOW....Send more US dollars)

(4) expanding efforts to reduce the transaction costs of remittance flows in order to increase the pool of savings available to help finance domestic investment in Mexico; (IOW...make it easier for US dollars to bleed south)

(5) encouraging Mexican corporations to adopt internationally recognized corporate governance practices, including anti-corruption and transparency principles; (Hey Mexico CEOs...howzabout getting your hand out of the cookie jar, pretty please?)

(6) enhancing Mexican efforts to strengthen governance at all levels, including efforts to improve transparency and accountability, and to eliminate corruption, which is the single biggest obstacle to development;(IBID)

(7) assisting the Government of Mexico in implementing all provisions of the Inter-American Convention Against Corruption (ratified by Mexico on May 27, 1997) and urging the Government of Mexico to participate fully in the Convention's formal implementation monitoring mechanism;....(IOW, beg the Mexicans to honor the deals they signed.)

This guy’s definition of “legal immigration” is to let people in illegally and then make them legal after the fact?
