Mexico's emigrants last year sent nearly $25 billion home to family members. That money has become an important anchor in many rural communities and poor metropolitan neighborhoods.

That is why Mexico opposes the fence.

“That is why Mexico opposes the fence.”

It’s also why the SOBs running Mexico have no incentive to clean up their stinking, third-world hellhole.

I would like to see a processing fee (15%-20%) on any International Money Order destined for Mexico! Use the proceed to pay for the fence and enforcement.

Why can’t we tax the money that they send to Mexico? Recently a Republican congressman introduced a bill to do just that, and a bill to do away with the anchor baby problem. Naturally, neither one of these bills went anywhere. I don’t understand why we can’t stop this practice. Keep them from sending so much $ home, and maybe they’ll go home.

Give 25 billion to Mexico in exchange for taking their people back and putting them to work building the fence.

A ten percent tax on transfers of cash out of the country would put a huge dent in that, and help with the deficit. I'm sure the Democrats will hurry to put up such legilation to quell the deficit they're so concerned about.

I live in an town with alot of farms and around Harvest Time you see alot of Mexicans in our local stores sending electronic funds to what I can only assume is “back home”. They drive around stuffed into these hoopties (old beat up cars)... I mean the car is full of people. They stare at my daughter. I hate to be prejudiced, but I find them to be menacing at times. On the Eastern Shore (very rural area) of Virginia, they actually busted a brothel run by illegals for illegals. The state of Virginia is being overrun by illegals.
